Dahabiyas are upscale, luxurious sailing boats where you enjoy a unique and stylish sailing experience up and down the great spectacular Nile River between Luxor and Aswan. This style river boat was common in Egypt during the days of the monarchy (1920's-40's) when aristocrats and sophisticated travelers loved to cruise the Nile in style. Each of the Dahabiyas offer 8 spacious cabins and hold a maximum 16 people making them a cozy, exclusive experience.

DAHABIYA – ASWAN TO LUXOR, 8 Days

Day 1. (Sun). Fly Cairo to Aswan - Embark. Fly from Cairo to Aswan. Upon arrival in Aswan you will be met by Goway's local representative and transferred to your Dahabiya, your floating hotel for the next 8 days. After lunch you will visit the Nubian Museum. LDF

Overnight onboard (7 nights)

Day 2. Exploring Aswan. Visit the High Dam, the Old Dam and the ' unfinished obelisk', lying in ancient granite quarries of Aswan. Then proceed to Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, being rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser at the time of the High Dam's construction. BLD

Day 3. Sailing – Aswan to Kom Ombo. Early sail to Kom Ombo. Visit the temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Horus the elder, god of the morning sun. BLD

Day 4. Sailing – Kom Ombo to Edfu. Early sailing to Edfu. You will have lunch on an island. View Silsila Temple and Sandstone quarries from the deck. Visit to one of the best preserved temples of the Graeco – Roman era , that of Horus at Edfu. Experience the horse drawn carriage ride back and forth to the temple. BLD

Day 5. Sailing – Edfu to Luxor. Early Crossing of lock and sailing to Luxor. Visit the town and temple of Esna dedicated to the creator god Khnum. Sail to Luxor. BLD

Day 6. Exploring Luxor. Visit the gigantic temple complex of Karnak, followed by the awesome Luxor Temple started by Amenophis III in the 14th century B.C. and extended by Ramsis II. BLD

Day 7. Luxor's West Bank. Visit the West Bank Necropolis, the burial ground of the Pharaohs - the Valley of the Kings - where Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922. Proceed to the nearby Valley of the Queens, the mortuary temple of Hatshepsuit and the Colossi of Memnon. BLD

Day 8. Depart Luxor - Fly Luxor to Cairo. After breakfast you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo. BF

DAHABIYA – LUXOR TO ASWAN, 8 Days

Day 4. Sailing – Esna to Edfu. Breakfast on board, View of El Kab tombs and site from the deck. Arrival in Edfu. Visit one of the best preserved temples of Graeco – Roman era, that of Horus at Edfu. Experience the horse drawn carriage ride back and forth to the temple. BLD

Day 5. Sailing – Edfu to Kom Ombo. Morning at leisure before a BBQ lunch on a Nile Island. Sail to (Meneh) island near Kom Ombo and view the Silesia Temple and sandstone quarries from deck. BLD

Day 6. Sailing – Kom Ombo to Aswan. Visit Kom Ombo temple dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Horus the elder, god of the morning sun. Sail to Aswan. BBQ Lunch on a Nile island prior to visiting Aswan Island (Copania). BLD

Day 7. Exploring Aswan. Breakfast on an island, sail to Aswan. Visit the High Dam, the Old Dam and the 'unfinished obelisk', lying in the ancient granite quarries of Aswan.
