Rwanda is a landlocked country situated on the eastern rim of the Albertine Rift which is on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley in Eastern Africa. Much of the country is attractively mountainous, the highest peak being 4500 metres/14,600 feet. It is known as “The Land of a Thousand Hills”, an apt description as it consists of green undulating hills with gardens and tea plantations dotted around them, a very attractive destination for a Rwanda safari.

Obviously gorilla tracking is the main attraction in Rwanda but one can also visit the grave of eminent zoologist, Diane Fossey who undertook extensive studies of gorillas in Rwanda, explore caves and track the golden monkey.
