Hluhluwe Game, Culture & St Lucia Safari

This 3 day tour takes you on safari in open game vehicles in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi 'Big Five' Game Reserve and allows you a glimpse into the life of the traditional/rural Zulu, who to this day retains a great deal of the 'old cultural' customs and beliefs.
Day 1. Durban to Hluhluwe via St Lucia. Early morning departure from Durban to Veyane Cultural Village where you will have the opportunity to learn more about the way of life of the local Zulu people. Watch and have the opportunity to join in on bead making, mat weaving, playing of local instruments. Meet a sangoma (witch doctor) and watch traditional Zulu dancing. Following your cultural experience, head into St Lucia before enjoying a boat cruise (weather dependent) to view hippos, crocodiles, African fish eagles and other birds. Continue to your hotel for dinner and overnight. D
Bonamanzi Lodge or similar (2 nights)
Day 2. Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Today, a full day of game viewing in an open game viewing vehicle in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park renowned for its rhino conservation as well as home to the 'Big Five'. We will also visit the reserves renowned Centenary Centre and Museum that depicts the history of live game capture and translocation of game. With a bit of luck there will be an opportunity for a close-up en-counter with an animal or two in the capture bomas (enclosures), awaiting their move to other reserves. BD
Day 3. Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park / Durban. Early wake up for a final game drive with-in the unique and wonderful Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Return to your lodge in time to check out and connect onto the transfer shuttle back to Durban, arriving in the city at approx 4pm. B
