Gorillas and Chimpanzee Express
6 days
A six-day safari from Entebbe, visiting the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda or Rwanda. On this itinerary, time permits for either one or two treks.
Day 1. Arrive Entebbe.
On arrival you will be met by a Goway representative at the airport and transferred your hotel.
Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel or The Boma Hotel or similar (1 night)
Day 2. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
After breakfast, we fly to the west of Uganda, onto Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – where permits are held (there is an option for you to do this journey as a drive), you will have lunch en route. The road to Kabale and on to Bwindi takes you into the Uganda Highlands - the Switzerland of Africa - with great views and vistas of this lush green area. (BLD)

Day 3. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
After breakfast An early morning trek into the forest on the slopes of the volcanoes, led by
experienced trackers will bring you amongst a family of Mountain Gorillas. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 700 remaining. (BLD)
Day 4. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Today there is an option of a forest walk to look for birds and other primates, or just relax
in this beautiful area, a second day of trekking is available (extra permit at extra cost and must be pre arranged). There are also some curio shops, and the option of meeting
some of the local community – including the people running the local
orphanage. (BLD)
Day 5. Lake Mburo National Park.
You depart after breakfast, towards Kampala to the Lake Mburo National Park where you will
stay overnight. (BLD)

Day 6. Depart.
You will return to Entebbe, via the equator, stopping en route to shop for curios and at the Royal Drum makers
at Mpigi if desired. (B)

Note: From time to time this itinerary may go to Rwanda to track Gorillas or done in the reverse order due to permit availability.
The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours or longer is not uncommon – at relatively high altitude. Mountain Gorillas are wild animals, as such sightings cannot be guaranteed, however the success rate is well over 90%.
