May is Sell AFRICA Month at Goway

It is an Incan Quipu. The Incans had no written word so communication other than face to face verbal was done via the Quipu – as was counting and mathematics. A Quipu usually consisted of colored, spun, and plied thread or strings from llama or alpaca hair. The cords contained numeric and other values encoded by knots in a base ten positional system. Some Quipus had a few cords some as many as 2,000 cords!

Quipu (pronounced k’ipu) is the word for “knot” in Quechua – the native Inca language

Great Globetrotting Movies: 180* South

poster artAn awesome documentary following a group of people who first sailed from Panama to Rapa Nui, surfing, then down Chiles coast, to several Chilean national parks, rock climbing, surfing, to climb mount Corcovado in Patagonia.

The film contrasts their journey with 2 friends who in the 1960s drove a bus down through South America to Patagonia. They were rock climbers and surfers, and they both started clothing companies: Patagonia and North Face… becoming millionaires, and they now fund charities in Chile. One of them joins the group to climb the mountain at the end…. really cool movie.

Getting More from a New Zealand Vacation

When sending your clients to New Zealand, they may want to venture into the cities of Auckland and Wellington for shopping and dining, but the true experience of visiting New Zealand is to explore the picturesque countryside and jaw-dropping National Parks.
