Selling Tips: Thailand

Inquire about this trip

Being one of the most popular destinations, Thailand offers endless travel ideas and Goway wants to make it easier for you to sell. By sharing our expertise and firsthand travel knowledge with you, we expect your clients will be so pleased, they will book with you again and again!

The following are Goway’s recommendations for how to sell Thailand:

1. Offer clients a chance to experience Thai culture. This includes participating in an authentic Thai cooking class, experience giving morning alms to monks, visiting a temple or an elephant camp, trying a traditional Thai massage, or suggesting they participate in a Thai festival such as Loi Krathong or the Thai New Year. These are just a few suggestions… there’s so much incredible culture in Thailand to be discovered! Goway offers 1 and 2 day cooking classes:

2. Don’t be afraid to Upsell: Thailand offers great value for money, especially for luxurious experiences. If your client always wanted to experience luxury, Thailand is the perfect destination to make this dream come true. From fabulous hotels, world-class spas, incredible shopping and fantastic cuisine…and over 200 golf courses, the choices are unlimited. Goway offers 3 “Stays of Distinction” in Thailand: The Mandarin Oriental, The Amanpuri and the Four Seasons Chiang Mai.

3. Combine the familiar with lesser-known areas. If you always sell the same, well-known places, then your clients won’t require your expertise. So offer that “something extra”, beyond the typical itinerary that really entices your client to book with you, and ultimately offers a more rewarding travel experience. So instead of suggesting a few days exploring Bangkok, why not also include a River Cruise? Or suggest a lesser known Thai island like Krabi. For those wanting culture, offer a visit to the Golden Triangle. Thailand’s unique and spectacular landscapes will offer unforgettable memories. Goway has 2 and 3 day River cruises as well as a Golden Triangle tour - Northern Thailand Explorer.

4. Really Qualify. Find out the traveller’s preferences. Does your client prefer history and culture, the great outdoors, or relaxing vacations? Find out the time of year they are travelling and who they are travelling with. Thailand really has so many diverse products, that it is important to make the right recommendations. It’s also very important to assess whether they are a first-time visitor or a repeat visitor. All of these factors will impact the recommendations that an agent should make. Goway offers a variety of trip ideas including the popular beach escape packages which range from 8-13 days.

Although Thailand is quite small geographically (about the same size as France), each region of the country offers different experiences, cuisine, shopping, etc. Goway encourages you to take advantage of our expertise and discover the many products available in Thailand!
