The Imperial, New Delhi's landmark Hotel, is located on Janpath. The restored 1930's Victorian style building is a perfect combination of old-world charm and modern day conveniences. A unique four story, low rise, The Imperial is just steps away from the renowned shopping and commercial district, Connaught Place.

Museums, theatres, monuments, parks and cultural centres are within close proximity to the Hotel. The Vice Regal Lodge - now the President's Palace, Parliament House and the North and South block nerve centre of the offices of the Government of India are also located close to the Hotel.

The various room categories at The Imperial are:

Imperial Rooms, Heritage Rooms, Heritage Suites, Deco Suites, Deluxe Suites. 141 non-smoking rooms, 85 Imperial rooms (65 Double and 20 Twin), 103 Heritage rooms (87 Double and 16 Twin), 18 Heritage Suites, 21 Deco Suites, 4 Deluxe Suites and one Presidential Suite. The Royal Imperial Suite is the Presidential suite of the Hotel with a large verandah.

All rooms have interesting views ranging from the airy atrium the serene swimming pool, well-manicured, lush green gardens, royal palms to the spectacular Terrace garden and The Spice Route Courtyard where the latter two embody outstanding facets of south-east Asian design.

1911 Restaurant and Bar pays tribute to the historic milestone of Year 1911 that led to the emergence of New Delhi as the Imperial Capital of India. It is the signature restaurant with a culinary fare from the crossroads of the world.

1911 Brasserie offers trendy and stylish French cuisine for dinner. The Verandah of 1911, popularly known as 'The Garden Party', overlooks a large expanse of beautiful gardens and is a favorite with the local and visiting food connoisseurs. The patio and the garden are open during fine weather for a delightful alfresco dining experience.

1911 Bar is a perfect setting for a business pow wow or an informal evening. You can also luxuriate in the privacy of its exclusive adjoining lounges called the 'Hardinge Room' and 'Lutyens' & Baker Room'. Daniell's Tavern traces a culinary journey in the footsteps of Thomas and William Daniell -the famous landscape painters who arrived in India in 1786 to paint its unrivalled scenery.

San Gimignano, inspired by the medieval town of the same name, in the heart of Tuscany in central Italy, is The Imperial's specialty Italian restaurant. The Restaurant's truly gourmet fare is accentuated by the culinary tradition and vitality of the Tuscan landscape reflected in the décor and the interiors. Patiala Peg, embodying the spirit of victory and one-upmanship, commemorates the Maharaja of Patiala's team's victory over the Viceroy's, in a robust game of tent pegging in the early 1900s. This stylish bar with its impressive range of spirits is the ideal place to relax after a hard day's work.

The Atrium with its high-domed ceiling, tropical surroundings and humming fountains creates just the right atmosphere for a traditional English afternoon tea.

La Baguette, the picturesque pastry shop overlooking the lawns tempts the inveterate sweet tooth with its enviable range of gateaux, breads, chocolates, bakeries and patisseries.

3 day Itinerary

The Red Fort Day 1. Arrive Delhi.
On arrival in the capital of India you will be met by a Goway representative and transferred to your hotel by private car.

Day 2. Touring Delhi.
A full day! First you visit the ancient capital, with its pageant of Indian history, from its origins around 1200 BC, through the periods under the Sultans in the 10th century, (seen in the Qutab complex), and the Moghuls from the 14th century, with the magnificent Red Fort.

Finally there is the New Delhi of the British Raj, majestically laid out next to the old city with its broad tree-lined avenues and imposing public buildings. (B)

Day 3. Delhi to your next stop.
Today is free to further explore this endlessly colourful city before transferring to the airport for your onward flight. Stay longer if you wish. (B)
