Backwaters Of Kerala

Day 1. Arrive Cochin.
You will be met and transferred to your hotel for the overnight. Rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2. Cochin to Backwaters.
Transfer to the boat jetty before lunch, boarding your private deluxe houseboat. Cast off and cruise across Vembanad Lake to enter the Alleppey canal. The canals are bordered by sleepy villages, rice paddies and palms. Stop and explore the Sree Krishna Temple in Ambalapuzha, before continuing on. Evenings will be spent alongside quiet rice paddies, onboard overnight. (BLD)
Day 3. Kerala Backwaters.
Cruise the backwater canals, lazily enjoying the beautiful scenery passing by and witnessing genuine rural life. Watch fishermen drying nets as you pass traditional rice barges. (BLD)
Day 4. More Cruising the Backwaters.
Start from Thakazsh and cruise to Kainakary. If you wish, stop and visit a small village along the way, and there is also a chance to take a canoe ride. After the canoe ride board back on the houseboat and cruise to Marthandom Kayal. (BLD)
Day 5. Backwaters to Cochin.
Rejoin the larger canals, and proceed to the Pallathuruthy Boat Jetty. Here you will disembark and then transfer to Cochin, where that afternoon you will take a city tour of fascinating Cochin in a private vehicle, taking in the palace, church, synagogue, spice market and old Jewish quarter. That evening, depart for your next destination. (B)
