classic india mapDay 1. Arrive Delhi.
You will be met by Goway's representative and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2. Delhi Sightseeing.
In the morning, visit the bustling, busy area of winding back streets and colourful ambience of Old Delhi. Afterwards, visit The Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. In the afternoon, visit New Delhi with drive down the main avenue and drive past the impressive India Gate, Presidential Palace, government buildings visit Qutub Minar, and 16th Century tomb of Humayun. (B)

Day 3. Delhi to Varanasi.
Fly to India's holiest city (flight not included) where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The balance of your day will be at leisure. Evening witness Ganga Arti on the banks of River Ganges. (B)

Day 4. Varanasi Experience.
At sunrise, a small boat on the holy River Ganges allows you to see the extraordinary early morning rituals taking place as Pilgrims line the shores. This will be an unforgettable experience. Later, visit the Bharat Mata Temple. Afternoon leave for Sarnath where “Buddha” gave his first sermon. (B)

Varanasi, India

Day 5. Varanasi to Khajuraho.
Morning free, later transfer to airport. Fly to Khajuraho, (flight not included) famous for its superb sculptures depicting aspects of Indian life over the centuries. Visit the famous Western Group of
temples. (B)

Day 6. Khajuraho to Agra.
Travel by road to Jhansi where you will board a train for Agra. On arrival in Agra, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (B)

Day 7. The Taj Mahal.
Home of the fabled Taj Mahal. Marvel at the wonder of this marble monument built by Emperor Shah Jehan as a tomb for his beloved wife. Later visit Agra Fort which was built by Akbar the Great. (B)

Day 8. Agra to Ranthambore.
Embark on an overland journey to Ranthambore stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri, once the ghost city built in 1569. It’s a long day of travel so once in Ranthambore check into your hotel and relax. (BLD)

Day 9. Ranthambore National Park.
Today you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy two safaris into the jungle by open canter, built for great wildlife viewing, tiger tracking and bird watching and per¬fect for taking photographs. The park is home to many species of wildlife, not only tigers but leop¬ards, hyenas, sloth bears, and dholes. Afternoon enjoy one more jungle safari by shared canter. (BLD)

Day 10. Ranthambore to Jaipur.
After breakfast, visit the 1,000 year old Ranthambore Fort, the hunting lodge for the Maharajas before heading onwards to Jaipur, where you will transfer to your hotel. (B)

Day 11. Exploring Jaipur.
Known as the Pink City due to the colour of the stone used in its buildings, Jaipur has a timeless quality reflected in its bazaars and thoroughfares. In the morning, visit the Amber Palace arriving at its gates a top Elephants. This afternoon, you will tour the city including the Stone Observatory of Jantar Mantar, City Palace & Museum and photostop at Hawa Mahal. (B)

Day 12. Jaipur to Udaipur.
Fly to Udaipur, (flight not included) the city of lakes. With its fairy-tale palaces, attractive lakes and gardens, Udaipur, is a wonderful experience and sets you back in time to the era of the Maharajas. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)

Day 13. Touring Udaipur.
Visit the Jagdish Temple before visiting the City Palace, which stands on a ridge overlooking Lake Pichola. Also view the statue of the Maharana Pratap before tak¬ing a boat cruise on beautiful Lake Pichola. Continue to Sahelion-Ki Bari Park, an excellent example of the Hindu art of landscape gardening and the Gulab Niwas gardens with its outstanding collection of roses. (B)

Day 14. Depart Udaipur for your next destination.
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

Note: Ranthambore is closed from July 1 to September 30, but this tour can be modified to exclude Ranthambore if those are your preferred travel dates.
