Korea, "Land of the Morning Calm," is a land of opposites existing in conjunction with each other. It combines ancient Oriental tradition with modern technology. In downtown Seoul, one can find traces of its 5,000-year history in its palaces, city gates, and temples and yet the country is also a rapidly developing nation in terms of industry, trade, and commerce.
Our classic itinerary will give you an insight into all the contrasts of this fascinating country. From Seoul and Busan, vibrant metropolises to Gyeongju, described as an open-air museum.
Day 1. Arrive in Seoul. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for 2 nights accommodation. Remainder of day at leisure.
Day 2. Seoul Sightseeing. Full day tour including Gyeongbokgung Palace, pass by the Blue House (Presidential Palace), The Secret Garden, Folklore Museum, Insadong Alley and the South Gate Open Market. BL
Day 3. Seoul/Gyeongju. You will be transferred to Seoul station for the morning express train to Gyeongju. Upon arrival in Gyeongju, you will be met and taken to your choice of hotel for 2 nights accommodation. In the afternoon, you will visit the Royal Tumuli Park, Gyeongju National Museum and Anapji Pond. BL
Day 4. Gyeongju. Today is a full day's sightseeing in Gyeongju including the Seokguram Grotto, Bulguksa Temple and the Gyeongju Arts and Crafts centre. BL
Day 5. Gyeongju/Busan. Transfer to Busan by road. En route, visit the Tongdosa Temple. On arrival, check into your choice of hotel. Later visit Busan Tower, the International Market and the Jagalchi Fishery. BL
Day 6. Busan. Today you will visit Nurimaru APEC House, Haeundae Beach and Aquarium, UN Memorial Cemetery, Busan Municipal Museum and Yongungsa Seaside Temple. BL
Day 7. Busan - Seoul - Shanghai. Depart by express train to Seoul in the morning. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Shanghai (not included). Welcome to China's largest city. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of day is at leisure. B
Day 8. Shanghai. Shanghai sightseeing today includes the bustling Nanjing Road and the legendary Bund. Later visit the Jade Buddha Temple and the elegant Yu Yuan Gardens. Tonight, marvel at the amazing Shanghai Acrobatic Show. BLD
Day 9. Shanghai. The morning begins with an excursion to Zhujiajiao, a river-town near Shanghai. Later, arrive back in the city and proceed to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Pudong for a bird's eye view of Shanghai. From here you will have the opportunity to visit the Jade Buddha Temple and finish the day with a trip to the Carpet Factory. Spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring some of the best night clubs and restaurants in all the world. Nanjing Road and the Bund are perfect spots for a late night stroll. BLD
Day 10. Shanghai/Beijing. The day is at leisure before you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Beijing. Upon arrival at Beijing Airport, your guide will accompany your transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore China's capital. B
Day 11. Beijing. Put on your walking shoes today as you will be visiting some of Beijing's most iconic sites. Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public plaza in the world and the Forbidden City, whose acres of splendid 15th Century halls and pavilions graced with imperial treasures now comprise the Palace Museum. You also visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven, possibly the most popular symbol of China. This afternoon, enjoy the Summer Palace, a complex of pavilions, temples and galleries situated on an immense man-made lake. BLD
Day 12. The Great Wall. A day you won't forget! Your full day tour includes a tour to the Badaling section of The Great Wall of China, one of the Seven Wonder's of the World. Also, visit the Ming Tombs, a total of 13 Imperial tombs from the Ming dynasty and the Sacred Way. BLD
Day 13. Beijing. Begin the day with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, possibly the most popular symbol of China. You will also have the opportunity to see local people doing Taiji and their morning exercises. Then take time to explore the Museum of China Ancient Architecture & History of Beijing. In the afternoon, take a pedicab through the narrow Hutongs, a Beijing' World Heritage Site. In the evening, enjoy a special Peking Duck dinner and Cultural Show. BLD
Day 14. Beijing. Morning is free before you transfer to the airport for your onward flight. B
