LAOS - THE FORGOTTEN COUNTRY

Day 1. Arrive Vientiane. You are welcomed to the peaceful capital of Laos and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon enjoy a city tour taking in Vat Sisaket, with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, Wat Phrakeo, Ho Phra Keo, once the Royal Temple of the Lao Monarchy, the That Luang Monument and Vientiane's own Arc de Triomphe, the Anousavari Monument. Day 2. Vientiane to Luang Prabang. Transfer to the airport for a morning flight to the former royal capital, Luang Prabang. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to your hotel before setting out to explore some of the sights of this peaceful, provincial city. The That Makmo, Wat Xieng Thong, Vat Aham, Vat Visoun and Phousi Hill should not be missed. Continue on to Vat Mai to see the famous five-tiered roof. View the sunset at Vat Siphouthabath. BLD
Day 3. Mekong River Experience. Today, visit Vat Xieng Thong - a famous temple in Laos. Then proceed on a boat trip on the mighty Mekong River to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves with their lacquered Buddha statues. After a picnic lunch, visit the village of Ban Xang Khong, a weaving village where traditional Sa paper is produced. BLD
Day 4. Luang Prabang to Vientiane. Visit the National Museum, where a collection of personal artifacts of the Royal Family are displayed. Proceed for a stroll on the lively Dala Market, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to the airport for the flight back to Vientiane. Transfer to the hotel on arrival. The afternoon is free. BLD
Day 5. Depart Vientiane. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure or visit the Morning Market if time permits before transferring to the airport. BL
