A very extraordinary experience to the Malaysian states on the island of Borneo, home of the Hornbills and the Land Below the Wind. Visit Kinabalu National Park - the base of the highest mountain in Southeast Asia; explore archaeologically important Niah Caves; stay in a guesthouse built beside a typical Iban longhouse.

Day 1. Arrive Kuching. Meet and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon tour of Kuching, including Tua Pek Kong Temple, the famous Sarawak Museum and Fort Margherita.

Day 2. Kuching/Semenggok Orangutan Sanctuary/Longhouse. Depart to visit the Semonggok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre that houses the Orangutan, honey bears and other protected species of wildlife, rescued from captivity. Witness the feeding of the Orangutans. Afterwards, depart for an overnight stay at Tuba Longhouse, where you will be a guest of the village chief. After lunch with the longhouse villagers, proceed for a boat ride in search of wildlife including monkeys, hornbills and various kinds of birds. Return to Tuba longhouse for dinner and overnight. Day 3. Iban Longhouse/Kuching/Miri. After breakfast, visit the local school and then trek to the Tuba Hill to visit local pepper plantation. Return to Kuching, and after lunch, transfer to the airport for flight to Miri where you will overnight. BL

Day 4. Miri/Mulu. Morning departure to the airport for the flight to Mulu. Arrive at Mulu National Park, the home to the largest cave passage in the world and a paradise for naturalist. Mulu Park is known to have 1500 species of flowering plants, 170 species of wild orchids and 67 species of animals (sightings of animals not guaranteed). After lunch, continue to Lang's Cave and Deer Cave. This interesting walk will be on a raised platform going through peat swamp forest. We will also explore the Garden of Eden from the view point. Our journey back will be through Deer Cave. Overnight in Mulu. BLD

Day 5. Mulu/Miri/Kota Kinabalu. Continue exploring the Caves after which take a boat to Clearwater Springs for a picnic. Transfer later to the airport for the flight to Kota Kinabalu via Miri. Transfer to your hotel. BL

Day 6. Kota Kinabalu. A full day excursion to Kinabalu National Park. Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain in Southeast Asia. Enjoy a guided jungle walk, visit the exhibition hall and see slide show of the park. BL

Day 7. Kota Kinabalu to your next stop. In the morning proceed on a city tour. Visit the highest point in the city for a panoramic view of Kota Kinabalu, an exclusive residential area, Likas Bay, Sabah Foundation (exterior), and a Buddhist Temple. Transfer to the airport for your onward journey or tour extension. B
