Temple Tiger Jungle Lodge is the only wildlife resort where the wild game can be sighted right from the lodge itself.

ELEPHANT MEN
In Nepal, almost all elephant men are traditionally Tharus, a tribal group native to the southern regions with ethnic and social characteristics similar to the people of the Gangetic plain.
All are organized into a formal government structure patterned on elephant regiments of the old India maharajas. The mahout, phanit, and pachua form a three-man group that is attached to each elephant, much like an armoured squadron in a modern army.
The mahout must first be able to give the elephant a sense that he is very powerful, very strong. He must fear you before you can master him-just like a bad child that must be controlled.

Not a single tree has been cut down to accommodate the lodges and construction has been completed with minimum destruction to Nature.
The original inhabitants of the jungle the Tharu's, have been relocated in villages around the jungle and have been educated on conservation issues.
