Over the last few decades, Thailand's capital city, Bangkok, has changed into a modern, exciting and sophisticated city. It offers to visitors not only the cosmopolitan amenities they would expect from other big cities, but also a unique treasure trove of cultural attractions. Thailand, in the heart of Southeast Asia, was never colonised and thus kept its unique culture and heritage intact. Bangkok offers visitors the opportunity to experience fascinating glimpse of Thailand's gentle culture amidst the bustle of a great and dynamic metropolis. This great city has had astounding success in combining the ancient and modern world.

For tourists, Bangkok has a feast of attractions to offer. The city is dotted with 400 glittering Buddhist temples of great beauty and fascination, magnificent palaces, classical dance extravaganzas, numerous shopping centres and traditional ways of life, especially along the "Venice of the East" timeless canals and the Chao Phraya River of the "River of Kings" winding through the city. It is worth taking a trip along its waters before exploring further into different canals to take a glimpse of old Bangkok

Day 1. Arrive Bangkok.
You will be met by Goway's representative and transferred to your hotel. The balance of day at leisure.

Day 2. Touring Bangkok.
Today you will visit the famous Grand Palace, one of the most beautiful examples of an ancient Thai court. The palace was the former residence of the Thai kings. There are several things here to admire, including the Reception Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Funeral Hall, and the beautiful Temple of the Emerald Buddha, also known as "Wat Phra Keo". You can easily visualize the splendor and pageantry of the past. Later, you will proceed to Wat Po, home of the enormous Reclining Buddha ,and one of the oldest and largest temples in Bangkok. This evening enjoy a cruise down the Chao Phraya River by night. It's a spectacular and memorable experience as Thai culinary delicacies are served as you glide down The River of Kings and take in the spectacular sights such as Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn), the magnificent Grand Palace, The Royal Barge Boathouse, and numerous other temples and fascinating landmarks.  BD

Day 3. Touring Bangkok.
Today's full day sightseeing includes a visit to Thailand's most colourful Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Afternoon visit to the Rose Garden to enjoy a Thai cultural show, including sword fighting and Thai
boxing. (BL)

Day 4. Bangkok to your next stop.
The day is free until your transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)

BEACH BREAK SUGGESTION:

BANGKOK ACTIVITY SUGGESTIONS:

River Kwai TrainFULL DAY: RIVER KWAI

Visit the world famous 'River Kwai Bridge', the War Museum, and board a train to take a ride on the 'Death railway' along the original wooden viaducts, constructed under order of the Japanese by prisoners of war during WWII. Lunch is included.

FULL DAY: AYUTHAYA BY CRUISE

Drive to the former capital of Thailand, visit Bang Pa In (Summer Palace) and ruins of the Ancient City of Ayuthaya which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lunch is included, and return back to Bangkok by river boat on Chao Phraya river.

HALF DAY: KLONGS (CANALS) TOUR

Morning or Afternoon tour where you will take a boat ride along the "River of Kings" and its quiet canals. Bangkok was crisscrossed by these canals and were used for transportation. Although most of the canals now have been filled, several still exists and is one of the best ways to experience Thai life. Also visit to the Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn).

Vimanmek MuseumHALF DAY: VIMANMEK MUSEUM

Morning or Afternoon tour to visit the Vimanmek Museum. It is a former royal palace in Bangkok built in the 1900. It is also the World's largest golden teak wood mansion plus a Royal museum and treasure house showcasing Thai national heritage.

HALF DAY: JIM THOMPSON HOUSE

Morning or Afternoon tour (closed on Sunday) to the home of entrepreneur Jim Thompson, who introduced Thai silk to the World. Thompson's achievements during his 25 years in Thailand have won him fame as the "Legendary American of Thailand". The house consists of a complex of six traditional Thai-style houses with teak structures which were completed in 1959. The museum contains Thompson's extensive art and antique collection of sculptures, paintings, porcelain and other collectable items.

THAI COOKING CLASS:

Thai Spices1 DAY AND 2 DAY: THAI HOUSE BANGKOK

Courses are designed for those who wish to attain the basic knowledge to create menus for home entertainment or simply to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal. Located 22 km from Bangkok, The Thai House is a homestay concept that welcome visitors into a Thai home as guests, rather than as tourists. It has been entertaining oversea guests for over 10 years, and can accommodate up to 16 overnight guests. You can choose from 1 day or 2 days (overnight) cooking courses.

The classes are min of 2 and max of 10 participants. Lessons are held from Monday to Saturday 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Lessons are conducted in English.

HALF DAY: THE BLUE ELEPHANT SCHOOL BANGKOK

The Blue Elephant Cooking School has fully equipped facilities offering you the chance to put your hand to practicing authentic Thai cuisine. This cooking school and restaurant is located in the heart of Bangkok within a dazzling century old mansion where you will discover and experience the culinary wonders of Royal Thai Cuisine. This half day course will commence with a visit to the morning market (for Morning classes only) where you will learn to select and buy Thai ingredients for your cooking lesson, followed by 4 dishes waiting to be prepared and sampled by you.

The classes are min of 2 participants. Lessons are held Monday to Saturday 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM, and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Lessons are conducted in English.
