The most convenient way of travelling to Hayman is via Great Barrier Reef Airport (Hamilton Island) where Hayman's launches, seaplanes and helicopters connect with all incoming and outgoing commercial flights.

A member of the Hayman team greets guests on arrival at Great Barrier Reef Airport and arranges for the transfer of guest luggage from flights to the connecting launch, seaplane and helicopter transfers to Hayman. On arrival at Hayman, the luggage will be delivered directly to the guest room, suite, villa or penthouse.

Luxury Launch Transfer

Hayman's one-hour luxury launch transfer is priced at AUD$410 per adult each way and AUD$205 per child each way, unless this transfer has been purchased as part of an air ticket through fare to Hayman.

For international bookings, please book a through fare with QANTAS to Hayman from your port of destination.

For this launch transfer, Hayman operates a fleet of magnificent sleek white cruisers - Sun Eagle, Sun Paradise and Sun Goddess - which are beautifully appointed and provide a unique start and finale to the Hayman experience.

During the breathtaking crossing of the Whitsunday Passage, refreshments are served as guests take in the magnificence of this special setting which surrounds Hayman. On the arrival cruise to Hayman, all check in formalities are completed enabling guests to be personally escorted to their room directly on arrival on the island. Guests can also book their choice of tour, restaurant and activity during this crossing.

Via Great Barrier Reef Airport (Hamilton Island)

Jetstar

Jetstar operates daily services from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane into Great Barrier Reef Airport.

Hayman's launches, seaplanes and helicopters meet all incoming and outgoing Jetstar flights at Great Barrier Reef Airport.

QANTAS

QANTAS operates three return flights per week between Brisbane and Great Barrier Reef Airport.

QANTAS Boeing 737 aircraft provide business and economy class flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Virgin Blue

Virgin Blue introduced daily flights on its fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft from Brisbane into Great Barrier Reef Airport in June 2005.

The Hayman launch or seaplane transfer currently meets all incoming GBR Airport commercial flights. Helicopter transfers are also available. Please request ticketing to Hayman (port HIS). Airline tickets sold to the final destination (HIS) include the fare for the Hayman launch transfer.

Via Proserpine

Jetstar currently operates services from Brisbane to Proserpine. Virgin Blue operates a daily flight to Brisbane and Proserpine, and daily connections to Sydney. Guests connect to a coach transfer from Proserpine to Shute Harbour followed by a boat transfer to Hayman. A seaplane or helicopter transfer directly to Hayman can be booked with Hayman Reservations.

Seaplane Transfer

AIR WHITSUNDAY provides seaplane connections from the Jetstar services direct to Hayman. Approximate transfer time is 45 minutes

Boat Transfer

Hayman boat transfer from Shute Harbour. Bookings are essential.

Via Mackay

Jetstar and Virgin Blue operate flights to Mackay (via Brisbane) and then coach transfers from Mackay to Airlie Beach or air transfers direct to Hayman (approx. 50-minute flight) or via Great Barrier Reef Airport (approx. 45-minute flight). Upon arrival at Airlie Beach guests should take a taxi (10-minute ride) to Shute Harbour for a boat transfer to Hayman.

Helicopter Transfer

Helicopter transfers are available from various ports. Helireef has a 3 seater Robinson 44 Jet helicopter which is permanently based on Hayman. 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 seater helicopters can also be booked.

Extra luggage limit is 30kg per person with a total bag dimension of 140 cm (e.g. 140 cm = 67 cm width + 50 cm height + 23 cm depth)

ROOM CATEGORIES

Palm Superior
Centrally located on Levels 2 and 3 of the Palm Wing, above the Hayman Arcade and close to the famous Hayman Pool. The bathroom contains a shower only (no tub). These rooms do not offer sea views.

Pool Access
Located on Level 1 of the Pool Wing, these rooms are uniquely located on the edge of the Hayman Pool and offer the ultimate Hayman experience. Each room provides direct access from the room's balcony straight into the pool. This room offers the same interior design as the Pool Superior and includes a spacious marble bathroom with a shower located over the bath.

Pool Superior
On Level 2 of the Pool Wing, overlooking the famous Hayman Pool and gardens. Each room has a balcony and spacious bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Pool Deluxe
On Level 3 of the Pool Wing, overlooking the famous Hayman Pool, gardens, Hayman Beach and Coral Sea. Special features include a balcony, contemporary bathroom with separate shower and bath and ivory timber shutters that open to welcome in natural daylight.

Pool Suites
On Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Pool Wing, overlooking the famous Hayman Pool and gardens. Suites on Level 3 also offer views of the Hayman Beach and Coral Sea. Each suite has a separate bedroom, dressing room and lounge room. Special features include a balcony, large marble bathroom with separate shower and bath. An adjoining twin bedroom can be added to selected suites to create a two-bedroom suite.

Beachfront
Located in the Beach Wing, on the Hayman Beach, fronting the Coral Sea and adjacent to the famous Hayman Pool. An exclusive group of 10 rooms, each has a private terrace extending onto the coral sands. Each room is appointed throughout with terracotta tiles and the bathroom contains a double spa with separate shower.

Retreat Rooms
In the gardens of the Beach Wing and close to the Hayman Beach. An exclusive group of 16 rooms, each has a strong relationship with the outdoors, and the tropical surrounds provide a lush canopy enveloping a private verandah and outdoor rinse shower. The interior is a peaceful haven of soft natural tones and rich grained woods. Special features include a daybed settee and sunken bath overlooking private rockery.

Lagoon Superior
On Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Lagoon Wing, overlooking the Lily Lagoon, Lagoon Pool and gardens. Rooms on Level 3 also offer views of the Hayman Beach and Coral Sea. Décor reflects a relaxed resort feel, featuring soft, natural textures, cool marbles and rich, warm woods. A large balcony is furnished with an outdoor teakwood setting. Lagoon Deluxe

Sports

Tennis is available on five floodlit courts, squash on two courts, golf on a nine-hole putting green and golf driving plus croquet, archery, table tennis, badminton, snooker and pool, all compliments of Hayman.

The Activities Centre offers exercise regimes, personal training and fitness equipment and organises weekly sporting challenges and tennis clinics. Guests can also travel to the mainland for a round of golf at Laguna Whitsundays' 18-hole championship course.

Pool and Spas

One of the largest pools in the Southern Hemisphere, the famous salt-water Hayman Pool surrounds the Pool Wing and incorporates a small heated freshwater pool. The heated freshwater Lagoon Pool is set among tropical gardens in the Lagoon Wing and has two spas nearby.

Beaches

The Hayman Beach, lapping the Coral Sea, hugs the resort and offers year-round swimming and catamaran sailing, windsurfing and paddleskiing, all complimentary. On the other side of the island, Blue Pearl Bay One (accessible by foot) and Blue Pearl Bay Two plus nearby Langford Spit (both accessible by speedboat) are ideal for snorkelling and picnic lunches.

Tours and Classes

Complimentary tours, conducted by the Hayman team, include an educational Garden Tour of the lush landscape, Guided Island Walk into bushland to lookouts and beaches, and Kitchen Tour of the vast food preparation areas, Chocolate Room and acclaimed La Fontaine Wine Cellar. Guests can also learn the secrets of cocktail mixing and join regular culinary classes.

Movies and CD's

New-release blockbusters are regularly screened in the Entertainment Centre, at no charge, and in-room pay movies are also available. The news agency stocks a selection of CDs for loan.

Shopping

The Hayman Arcade houses boutiques, showcasing the latest in day and evening wear and accessories by leading local and international designers, plus a jeweller, display of artworks, news agency and photographic supplier and developer.

Children

Hayman has heaps of fun and exciting activities happening at Hernando's Hideaway, an exquisite cottage nestled in the gardens near the marina. This special place is home to the Kids Club and Crèche and welcomes young visitors up to the age of 12. Baby-sitting services are also available in the resort. And, look out for the special two-course Kids Menus in Hayman's restaurants which have been designed just for you and offer healthy and nutritious food.

4 days

Day 1. Arrive Hayman Island. After your flight lands on Hamilton Island you will be transferred by one of the luxury launches to Hayman Island (launch cost not included). Registration takes place on board whilst you enjoy complimentary champagne and canapés. D

Day 2 & 3. At leisure. Indulge yourself on this superb resort which offers many options. For the active traveller there is a choice of para-sailing, water-skiing, game fishing or scuba-diving (own expense) or take the Great Barrier Reef snorkel trip that is included in your package.

Enjoy the thrill of a seaplane or helicopter excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. For the more relaxed, take picnic hamper to a secluded beach, laze by one of the swimming pools or enjoy a late afternoon game of tennis.
