Goway's Splendid Sydney travelpac could be considered before departing on your self-drive. If we are booking your accommodation before departure, we will arrange for your car to be delivered to your hotel.
Day 1. Sydney to Blue Mountains. Approx 100 km - 62 miles and 2 hours travel time. Collect your rental vehicle and drive to the magnificent Blue Mountains. Time this afternoon for Bushwalking or just relax in the stunning Blue Mountains.
The main road through the Blue Mountains is the Great Western Highway which winds its way along a string of 26 mountain townships set in 533,600 acres of the stunning Blue Mountains National Park.

Day 2. Blue Mountains to Hunter Valley. Approx 236 km — 148 miles and 3.5 hours travel time. For your trip to the Hunter Valley today we suggest a scenic and less congested route. Travel north through Blackheath and onto Mount Victoria before continuing onto the wine growing region of the Hunter Valley. Spend some time exploring everything this area has to offer including more than 80 wineries this area is famous for.

Day 3. Hunter Valley to Port Stephens. Approx 106 km — 66 miles and 1.5 hour travel time. Drive to Nelson Bay and Port Stephens. Join a dolphin cruise or 4WD tour across the sand dunes (optional) or relax on one of the beautiful beaches. (E) Salamander Shores (F) Peppers Anchorage.
Day 4. Port Stephens to Sydney. Approx. 210 km/132 miles and 2.5 hours travel time. Leaving the Port Stephens area travel south along the coast to Sydney. This is a pleasant drive with bush valleys and peaks lining the way. We suggest you travel on the more scenic Old Pacific Highway and take a detour to the Gosford area to explore the waterways and beaches.
