Cradle Mountain Lodge is a warm rustic retreat nestled high in the Tasmanian wilderness on the edge of the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain/Lake St. Clair National Park. Walk through one of the world's last remaining temperate rainforests and build up an appetite for the fine food and wine of Tasmania at the Lodge's Highland Restaurant. Then savour the cosy comforts of your cabin in front of a roaring fire.
The awesome beauty of this region is truly inspiring. Here you see the face of creation all around you in the mirror lakes and rugged mountain peaks. And you don't have to be an environmentalist to feel humble in the towering presence of a King Billy Pine. Over 1,000 years old yet still a relative newcomer to these ancient forests.
This is a superb escape. Such a different way of life with cosy cabins, breathtaking scenery, magnificent meals and days filled with simple pleasures. The lodge itself has an ambience of warmth and security that welcomes you to every room. Something here returns you to those childhood days when it just felt good to be indoors. Perhaps it's the glow of the open fires that keeps drawing you back. Or perhaps the mood calls for a less formal meal and a country pub atmosphere. That leads you to the Tavern Bar, popular with the locals and a great place to share your adventures with new friends.
Cradle Mountain Lodge is a wilderness retreat set on the northern edge of the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain/Lake St. Clair National Park. The winner of numerous awards, the lodge offers comfortable cabins, cosy log fires, fine food and wines. Wildlife abounds in and around the lodge and there are a number of daily guided activities available. Ask about supplements for the spa cabins.
Day 1. Arrive Cradle Mountain Lodge. Welcome to the Lodge. The remainder of the day is free. Pencil Pine Cabin (2 nights).
Day 2. Cradle Mountain Lodge. A full day to experience the lodge and surrounding area. Go for a walk, explore the many trails on a mountain bike, learn how to abseil, try your hand at fly fishing, take a scenic flight, and enjoy a half hour therapeutic massage. B
Day 3. Cradle Mountain to your next stop. At leisure until you leave Cradle Mountain to join your onward arrangements. B
