Much of its wild spectacular scenery and stunning unspoiled wilderness is protected as National Park and is home to some extraordinary plant and animal life. See the best of Tasmania through this Goway travel idea, which includes visits to Salmon Ponds, Bonorong Wildlife Park, Tahune Airwalk and Port Arthur. Just to name a few.
Day 1. Depart your home town. Today you depart from the west coast and connect to the award winning Qantas Airways, the Spirit of Australia.
Day 2. Cross International Dateline. You will lose a day which will be regained on your return trip.
Day 3. Arrive in Hobart. Private car transfer to your pre-tour accommodation for 4 nights. The remainder of your Day is at leisure.
Day 4. Mount Field National Park and Bonorong Wildlife Park. Travel to Mount Field for a scenic rainforest walk to Russell Falls, followed by a Tasmanian lunch served by the river. Afterwards, continue to Bonorong Wildlife Park to see the Tasmanian Devils and other native animals. The day ends with a traditional Australian Billy Tea and damper. Free evening in Hobart. Overnight in Hobart. L
Day 5. Mount Wellington and Huon Valley. Enjoy stunning views over southern Tasmania from Mount Wellington, and continue to the Huon Valley to experience the wilderness attraction of the Tahune Forest Air Walk. Stop for lunch served in the wilderness, then enjoy a rainforest walk. Return to Hobart for a free evening. BL
Day 6. Port Arthur and Freycinet National Park. Visit Port Arthur Historic Site, the remains of Tasmania's famous convict settlement. Continue to the sunny East Coast, stopping for lunch along the beautiful coastline. Continue to Bicheno/Coles Bay for dinner at the hotel. Late in the evening penguins will be viewed in the wild. BLD
Day 7. Freycinet National Park and Richmond. Enjoy a scenic tour of the National Park and Coles Bay. Visit the local Lighthouse and lookout before departing on your walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout. Enjoy lunch after your walk, then depart for the historic village of Richmond to see Australia's oldest bridge and some fine art galleries. Return to Hobart. BL
Day 8. Depart Hobart. At leisure until you are transferred by private car to the airport for your flight home.
