AfricaExperts is the exclusive division of Goway that specializes only in planning itineraries and organizing travel experiences to Africa and the Middle East. And only real experts can help you properly explore, experience and enjoy this vast complicated and magnificent continent. To ensure our experience, knowledge and abilities are second to none we operate a unique and serious training program that qualifies our staff as AfricaExperts, who are passionate about the destination they sell.

Goway has always had a passion for Africa. In 2002, the AFRICAExperts division was created with the support of Claire Hodge, the President’s wife who grew up in Zimbabwe and South Africa before residing in North America.

Bruce, Goway's founder and President, has visited Africa on over 20 occasions. Many travel ideas have evolved from his personal experiences, such as tracking gorillas in Rwanda. The General Manager of the division, Moira Smith, is from South Africa and moved to North America in 2007. She is passionate about her homeland and always eager to share information and stories about her travels around the continent. Many of the staff in the division hail from all over Africa and the Middle East, ensuring solid expertise. All have travelled extensively throughout the region. They continue to explore to guarantee our product is the best, offering new and exciting destinations.

AFRICAExperts prides itself on the broadest and deepest range of products available, and there is certainly plenty to choose from; spectacular Victoria Falls and Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe; tours in Botswana’s Okavango Delta; a flying safari in Namibia; cruising the Nile in Egypt or exploring the Holyland in Israel and so much more.

Safaris are a big draw to this part of the world, but there is so much more to enjoy in the region: magnificent scenery and beaches, exciting cities, getting “up close and personal” with traditionally dressed tribespeople, history tours, whale and bird watching, unique and abundant flora, wine and food tours, unique shopping opportunities and a wide range of sporting events. You can find a journey to suit nearly every budget. The product range extends to include cruises, rail travel (Rovos Rail, the Blue Train and the unique Shongololo) as well as self-drive options.

By far the “flagship” tours are Goway’s unique “HOLIDAYS OF A LIFETIME”. These are exclusive, small-group experiences that are available only in North America, and guided by Goway’s own experienced Tour Directors. Carefully planned and refined over many years, these touring experiences offer the highlights of the region and an insight into the culture; all whilst staying in first-class (or better) accommodations with almost everything included.

Seasons:

• The dry season is the most popular and comfortable time to visit Africa. However, there are regional variances in each country.

• Travel off-season (wet season): It may only rain for a few hours in some countries (frequently at night), prices are cheaper, availability is better and traditional festivals are often held at this time. It’s also a good time for bird watching.
