idyllic IslandsWhen you really want to get away from it all, why not consider an Island Escape? Our world has many islands and Goway has selected what it deems are idyllic islands offering that perfect vacation. This naturally includes outstanding resort facilities, exceptional scenery, sandy beaches, a warm climate and friendly locals. All this has been packaged into IslandsEscapes, the exclusive brand name of Goway’s division.

Although these islands cater to singles, couples and families, IslandsEscapes also creates arrangements for weddings and honeymoons and even offers a unique honeymoon registry for couples to register some or all of their trip needs. Friends and family can add items such as spa treatments, romantic candlelit dinners, upgrade accommodations or contribute funds towards the cost.

IslandsEscapes’ team of experts can also plan adventure vacations that include diving, hiking, sailing and much more. If travelling as a family, many resorts certainly cater to children with special programmes and facilities; let our expert consultants advise which resorts are appropriate to suit your needs.

In our islands, resort facilities and atmosphere are crucial to successful planning. Some resorts are quite remote, and some hotels are quite boutique in style and cater to travellers who want to get away from everyday distractions. Then there are others which offer a wide range of land and water-based activities and proximity to shops and restaurants. Finding the right destination and resort results in a successful vacation. This is where IslandsEscapes’ expertise comes in.

Our experts have travelled throughout all of the showcased islands and can provide you with an overview of the culture of the destination. They can also recommend tours that may include village visits, archaeological and historical sites, ceremonies, festivals, local arts and crafts and traditional entertainment.

Where do we recommend you consider for your vacation? That really depends on your interests and inclinations. What we do offer is a wide selection of destinations.

For a vacation with a combined French and Polynesian flavor, Tahiti offers some beautiful islands with high, rugged mountain peaks, coral reefs, white sand, palm-fringed beaches, turquoise blue lagoons and emerald-green waters. Does this sound like paradise or not? From the extraordinary scenery to the privacy and amenities of the overwater bungalows, it is unquestionably one of the most romantic of the Pacific destinations. Two of the major islands are Moorea, known as the Magical Island and Bora Bora, known as the Romantic Island. For really getting away from it all, there are the islands of Huahine with its lush forests, quaint villages and crystal clear lagoons, Rangiroa, a great dive destination, Tikehau with its white and pink-sand beaches and Taha’a with its traditional and tranquil Tahitian lifestyle.

Fiji's sun-drenched, palm-fringed island resorts are among the best in the world. Denarau, close to Nadi on Viti Levu, offers activities that include golf, tennis, scuba diving and parasailing plus excellent shopping and dining options. The Coral Coast is 80 kilometres/50 miles with barrier reef beaches International resorts and self-contained 'bure' cottages to choose from. Offshore, the Mamanuca Islands are quieter with pristine white sandy beaches, waving palms and crystal blue waters. The Yasawa Islands are a chain of volcanic islands with beautiful, isolated beaches, cliffs, bays and reefs, unspoilt by too much tourist development. And as an alternative, you can take cruises which include both sets of islands.

For smiling and friendly people combined with gorgeous, diverse scenery, you can’t beat the Cook Islands. Life here is unhurried and laid back. The main island of Rarotonga offers a wide range of resorts and luxury villas. For an even more tranquil vacation, head to the island of Aitutaki with the “world’s most beautiful lagoon’.

The Maldives are a group of delightful coral islands where you can really escape. Here you can have your own overwater bungalow and truly be in paradise. Time will definitely slow down for you here!

Two other considerations for either an après-safari sojourn or just a beach vacation are the Seychelles and Mauritius located in the Indian Ocean off the East African coast. The beaches are uncrowded with powder-soft sands nestled next to turquoise waters. For water sports enthusiasts, there are wonderful opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Bali is a destination that has not only an excellent selection of beach resorts with great restaurants and bars but is an exotic island with coral reefs, an active volcano, rice paddies and serene temples. Then there is the lovely Ubud, the artistic centre of Bali offering wood carvings, paintings, and majestic views of lush and exotic scenery. No wonder Bali’s nickname is “Island of the Gods”.

Whether as a stopover en route to or from somewhere else or as a stand-alone destination, you can enjoy the natural and legendary beauty of Hawaii. From the lively and cosmopolitan resort of Waikiki to the more easy-going outer islands of Maui, Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii, you can immerse yourself in Polynesian culture.

Samoa and Tonga are other stopover possibilities, each with its own special character and attractions which definitely include beautiful beaches.

Greece has been blessed with a collection of beautiful islands. Each one has its own personality. From swinging Mykonos to breathtaking Santorini, historical Crete and magnificent Rhodes, you can combine beach and sightseeing or just simply relax.

Croatia has an amazingly long and beautiful coastline, some 5800 kilometres/ 3600 miles of it, in fact. And this adds up to an abundance of great resorts to visit for a beach vacation. Again history abounds with both Roman and Venetian influences. One way to really get to know Croatia is to take a cruise calling in at iconic places such as Dubrovnik and Split and the picture-perfect islands of Hvar, Mljet and Korcula.

So, let us arrange your idyllic island vacation. There are lots of choices!
