In celebration of their 40th Anniversary, Goway Travel hosted a 1970’s themed party for almost 200 people last night at the Dockside restaurant in Darling Harbour, Sydney.

In attendance were 50 travel agents from Canada, USA and South America who flew in with Qantas, Air New Zealand, Air Tahiti Nui and Air Pacific. There were inbound suppliers from all over Australia as well as New Zealand. Goway staff, including Bruce Hodge, the founder and president of Goway, flew in from Canada and America to celebrate with their Goway Australia colleagues.

Goway Travel, which started in Toronto in 1970, has grown into one of the largest and most respected travel wholesalers in North America, specializing in long haul travel for globetrotters. Goway Travel Sydney is also one of the largest and most respected inbound tour operators, drawing business from all over the world.

The 1970’s theme saw many of the Australian inbound suppliers relive their youth in a very festive atmosphere.

As well as other parties and events that are planned for the rest of 2010, the company’s biggest promotion is a 40-Trips-for-Two giveaway with a total value of over $250,000.

Goway’s Fabulous Philippines

Goway Travel, the leading North American wholesaler, is well known for their traditional itineraries to China, India, Thailand and Japan; however they also offer lesser known destinations such as the Philippines.

A place of natural wonders, the Philippines is a string of coral-fringed islands strewn across a vast expanse of the western Pacific. You can swim with whale sharks, discover geographically interesting landscapes or meet mountain tribes.

“The Philippines is teeming with potential tourist destinations with its pristine white sand beaches, warm and clear dive sites, scenic landscapes and all kinds of jewels in a tropical setting, “ says Goway’s Product and Marketing Manager for Asia, Doug Vogl. “And because it is off the beaten path, the Philippines is a perfect place to escape the tourist crowds of other Asian destinations – plus it is amazing value for your client’s dollar.”

Goway’s best selling program is their 9 Day Classic Philippines tour which starts at $1339 CAD and features in-depth touring in Manila and region, Cebu Island, home to the oldest city in the Philippines, Bohol, which boasts the famous Chocolate Hills and finally a relaxing 3 nights is spent in Boracay.

Another option for people with more time is the 4 Day private tour to the Banaue Rice Terraces. This unique tour starts at $1339 CAD and provides spectacular views of 2,000 old rice terraces at 1300 m (4300 ft) above sea level plus a full day tour to the hinterland town of Bontoc.
