Goway’s AFRICAExperts offers the “Ultimate Fam Trip”

For the second year running, Goway’s AFRICAExperts is offering an exclusive opportunity for North American Travel Agents to win the Ultimate Fam Trip to South Africa. This year in honour of Goway’s 40th birthday year, the itinerary is even more exciting with additions such as a luxury cruise on Cape Town’s harbour and a night at Goway’s Stay of Distinction in Knysna.

On the 10th October, 6 lucky agents will travel to Cape Town for an “Amazing Race” experience, staying at a private five star retreat. They will then journey to Knysna, in the heart of the ‘Garden Route’ to be pampered. Then it’s off to Shamwari for a “Safari School” – an incredible hands-on opportunity to encounter South Africa’s wild and diverse fauna and flora first hand from a rangers perspective. The Fam Trip finishes in Johannesburg, for an insight into South Africa’s history.

To enter, agents must have made at least one booking with Goway’s AFRICAExperts. To register, agents must complete the online quiz, and for each additional booking with AFRICAExperts, they will receive another entry into the draw.

Goway’s AFRICAExperts will be announcing the lucky 6 successful applicants in September. For travel options to South Africa, visit www.goway.com or consult their extensive 68-page travel planner for Africa and the Middle East, or call 800-245-0920.

Sydney and Beyond

Goway Travel is a multi-award winning Wholesaler for travel to Australia, and offers a wide range of travel styles and ideas for exploring Australia and New Zealand.

Australia is one of the largest countries in the world lends itself to endless possibilities for visitors. New South Wales (NSW) is one of the must see States which lies on the east coast of Australia, between Queensland and Victoria. One of the highlights of NSW is Sydney, the most cosmopolitan city in Australia, surrounded by modern and historic architecture, a beautiful harbour, dazzling beaches and a sunny climate. The surrounding regions include popular wine regions, beaches, World Heritage National Parks and spectacular coastal and country scenery. The farthest west is the Outback where visitors can catch a glimpse of Australia’s Aboriginal heritage.

“People continue to visit Sydney due to the many attractions and activities available. You can walk along the harbour then catch a performance at the Opera House, or you can easily go beach hopping by taking ferries or short bus rides. Sydney is a city where everyone will find something to do” comments Meghan Boyd, Goway’s Product Manager for Australia and New Zealand

Goway has many touring options from Sydney such as; Hunter Valley wine tours, day trips to the Capital of Australia, Canberra, exploring Sydney by helicopter, discovering the lush Blue Mountains and the wildlife, cruising the famous harbour, even the opportunity to spend the night at the zoo for a unique experience!

The perfect way to explore New South Wales is with Goway Travel’s Sydney and Beyond package that start from $2049CAD per person. This includes Round trip airfare from Vancouver with Qantas Airways, 7 nights hotel, transfers, tours, 5 days car rental, Goway Co-Pilot Kit with maps & discount vouchers. (Book by 17 Aug, travel valid until 21 Sep 2010. Excludes taxes of $425CAD)

Australia is known for their great wines, and many travellers opt for Goway’s 2 Day Hunter Valley Wine Country Tour from $535CAD. This gives a great contrast from the action-packed city and includes overnight accommodation, some meals, wine tasting, transfers from Sydney and sightseeing. Visitors will have a chance to view panoramic views of the wine areas.

Qantas Airways flies non-stop from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Sydney daily and offers convenient connections from all major North American cities. Book your clients on the A380 aircraft which has won Standards Australia’s top prize, the ‘2009 Australian International Design Award’. It is the most efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft to date. It burns 17% less fuel per seat than today’s largest aircrafts. Therefore, this makes a very quiet take-off and almost silent trip.

Goway Explores Israel

As part of their 40th anniversary celebrations, Goway recently hosted a fam trip to Israel. The six-day trip included the Crusader port city of Caesarea, Mount Carmel, Nazareth, the Galilee, the Dead Sea and Jerusalem. Highlights included following in the footsteps of Jesus in the old city of Jerusalem, a visit to Massada, the last outpost of the Jewish Zealots, who committed mass suicide rather than surrender to the Romans in the 1st century, and a ‘float’ in the Dead Sea.

Israel, together with the Middle East countries of Jordan and Egypt, is the fastest growing destination in Goway’s AFRICAExperts portfolio. There is also a trend towards combining one or more countries in this area. Goway’s fully escorted Middle East Treasures tour perfectly combines Egypt, Jordan and Israel. “This itinerary, new to our ‘Holidays of a Lifetime’ brand, was introduced this year due to popular demand” said Moira Smith, General Manager AFRICAExperts.

Goway offers a chance to visit Israel with The Holyland Experience. The tour starts and ends in Tel Aviv and includes: Tiberias, Capernaum, Banias, Nazareth, Beit Shean, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Dead Sea and Massada.

Goway’s Aussie Self-Drives Offer Improved Signage

Goway Travel, one of North America’s leading wholesalers for travel to Australia and New Zealand offers self-drive vacations for those who love to explore with freedom at their own pace. Australia’s Northern Territory invested $500,000 for the construction of the Red Centre Way signage and has constructed three levels of signage: gateway, interpretive and directional along the route.

The new Red Centre Way infrastructure will be a welcome guide for travellers providing information to make it easier for them to travel from Alice Springs to Uluru. Tourism NT Chief Executive, Maree Tetlow said “The driving force behind the development of the infrastructure was to guide visitors through one of Australia’s most iconic landscapes passing through the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges, Hermannsburg and Kings Canyon.”

At Flynn’s Grave near the Desert Park in Alice Springs and at Yulara on the Lassiter Highway, two gateway signs have been erected. Along the route, there are also interpretive signs explaining cultural, heritage and nature attractions providing visitors with an enhanced experience to this majestic corner of the Territory.

“Visitors going along the Red Centre Way routes will be able to feel more safe and confident with all the new signage that caters to travellers. Tourists will not only be able to enjoy the scenery but will also learn more about these significant sites,” says Product and Marketing Manager Meghan Boyd.

Goway offers Red Centre self-drive travel ideas, such as the Red Centre for 4 Days. This drive takes you from Alice Springs to Kings Canyon for spectacular views, then on to Ayers Rock. Just west of Ayers Rock you can find the Olgas, a collection of weathered red domes taller than Ayers Rock. This package includes hotel for 3 nights, a Hertz Group S car rental and Goway’s co-pilot kit of goodies (maps, directions, discounts) and starts from $637CAD.

Another great self-drive itinerary is Goway’s 7 day option from Darwin to Ayers Rock, including 6 nights accommodation, 7 day Hertz Group C car rental with unlimited kilometres, vehicle insurance, Goway’s co-pilot kit of goodies (maps, directions, discounts). From Darwin you head to Kakadu where you can enjoy a cruise on the Adelaide River Queen and witness jumping crocodiles. Then drive from Kakadu to Katherine on to Alice Springs and end in Ayers Rock. The self-drive starts from $1905CAD.
