Swim With Whale Sharks

Goway Travel, with a long history of selling Downunder, offers the widest range of experiences throughout Western Australia for agents. These include spectacular destinations such as Ningaloo Reef, which has an impressive reputation as one of Earth’s last ocean paradises. Travellers can dive with hundreds of tropical fish, colourful coral and the world’s biggest fish, the whale shark. It’s one of the largest fringing reefs in the world and unlike many others, you can get to it just by stepping off the beach. Goway’s Founder & President, Bruce Hodge, went to Ningaloo Reef and enjoyed a memorable experience diving with the whale sharks and highly recommends this trip.

The Ningaloo marine park stretches 260 kilometres and it reaches nearly 20 kilometres seaward, encompassing a massive 5,000 square kilometres of ocean with 500 species of tropical fish and 220 species of coral in all. Nothing can compare to the thrill of swimming beside a whale shark. These docile creatures visit the reef each year between April and June. Slip on a snorkel or diving gear and swim with graceful manta rays, see dolphins and schools of brightly coloured fish in the clearest turquoise water imaginable.

Rare turtle species also hatch here in late January and February, and visitors can watch this amazing natural phenomenon on special guided, eco-interactive trails.

Goway makes it easy for agents to sell Western Australia and Ningaloo Reef, booking flights, accommodation, and experiences to suit travellers needs. Goway also offers all of the major rail journeys, including one of the greatest train journeys on earth – The Indian Pacific – between Perth and Sydney.

Goway Travel offers 50% off Thailand Rice Barge Cruise

Goway Travel has introduced a newly refurbished rice barge cruise along the Chao Phraya River in Thailand, and for a limited time they are offering 50% offthe 3-day cruise, a $320 savings per couple!

“It’s an incredible deal,” says Diane Molzan, General Manager for Asia by Goway. Goway has been offering the Thanatharee rice barge for a few years now but prior to the renovation, it was dorm style accommodation. Despite the fact the barge has always offered top notch service and comfortable amenities, the majority of our clientele couldn’t get comfortable in shared sleeping quarters. Other barge cruise options along the Chao Phraya were quite a bit more expensive and there didn’t seem to be an in-between option.”

After spending a few months under construction, the new Thanatharee is now equipped with 6 air conditioned double cabins with shared bathroom facilities. Come the 2012 season, rates will inevitably climb but until Oct 31, Goway is offering the new private cabin comfort at the dorm-style prices. The promotion is valid for travel before 31 August, and new season pricing will be introduced for travel beyond Oct. 31.

The Thanatharee travels between Bangkok and the Northern ancient capital of Ayutthaya taking in rural villages of Thailand along the way. Each morning begins by offering alms to the village monks before heading into the countryside by bike to visit temples and learn more about the local hill-tribes of the area. The barge is also equipped with enough bicycles for all passengers. All meals throughout the journey are included. Afterwards, clients can either travel further north up to Chiang Mai after the cruise or be transferred overland back to Bangkok if they have limited time.

Departures are available on Saturdays from Bangkok to Ayutthaya and Wednesdays for the reverse direction. Call Goway to take advantage of this great deal now. Goway also offers luxury rice barge cruising as well if pure opulence and pampering is what your clients are after.

Lonely Planet Names Namibia a Best-Value Destination

Lonely Planets’ “Best in Travel 2011” has listed Namibia in its top ten best-value destinations for the upcoming year. Goway’s AFRICAExperts General Manager, Moira Smith, agrees “Namibia offers excellent accommodation options at really affordable prices. And the dollar goes a long way when you’re in destination”.

Rich in culture and history with a variety of different regions all offering their own unique attractions, it’s not surprising that Namibia has become a much sought after destination. It is an intriguing land of extreme contrasts – home to the highest dunes in the world, the oldest desert in the world and the second largest canyon in the world

An interesting and unique way to experience Nambia is on the Shongololo Express’ Dune Adventure. The concept is unique and is akin to ‘cruising on wheels’. The train travels at night, and in the morning, Shongololo’s knowledgeable multi-lingual guides offload their customized air-conditioned Mercedes vehicles and guests spend the day exploring the area. In 2011, only two trips are being operated in June and the 12 day journey starts at CA$3302. This includes accommodation, transfers, sightseeing, dinner and breakfast.

Travellers with specific interests can choose either the 7-day Southern Namibia or the 7-day Northern Namibia circuit. Combined they form the 15-day Classic Namibia which includes the Fish River Canyon, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, Etosha National Park and Windhoek. Prices start from CA$5510 and include most meals, all transportation and sightseeing with a qualified driver/guide. Namibia is a vast country so for travellers with limited vacation time, Goway’s AFRICAExperts have designed the 7-day Best of Namibia Flying Safari priced from CA$5125.

The President’s Cup: One More Reason To Visit Australia

Thanks to worldwide attention from the 1998 Presidents Cup, Melbourne shed its title of “The Best Kept Secret in Golf” in favor of a new accolade: “The World’s Best Golf Destination.” In fact, the city alone has as many Top 100 courses as all of Ireland and more than almost every other country. But it is not just the world’s best cluster of courses that makes Melbourne the ultimate golf vacation spot, it is the combination of golf and off-the-greens experiences that puts it at the very top of any golf traveller’s fantasy list. The city is brimming with beautiful hotels, many of them new, every imaginable cuisine at more than 3000 restaurants, and all the cultural trappings a traveller could want, from museums and sports to performing arts, shopping and gaming. And in surrounding Victoria, a countryside of coastal villages, rugged mountains, sprawling vineyards, windswept beaches and verdant rainforests, all populated by Australia’s famed wildlife, abound with adventures and experiences that make golf just one more reason to visit Melbourne.

Visiting for The President’s Cup 2011
With it’s long list of attributes both on and off the course, it is no coincidence that the PGA Tour again selected Melbourne to host the Presidents Cup in 2011, the first time a destination outside the United States has been granted this honor twice. Goway Travel, North America’s oldest and largest travel company specializing in travel to Australia, has been appointed the official tour operator for North America. As such, Goway is offering packages for experiencing The Cup and extended travel throughout Australia including golf trips, self drive options and private touring. Packages are bookable online at www.thepresidentscuptravel.com or by calling Goway at 866 515 2878.

On The Greens
To experience The President’s Cup in style, five and seven-night packages tailored to golf fans are available from $3019 double occupancy. Packages for witnessing the tournament firsthand include general admission tickets, a choice of hotels, private transportation to and from The Royal Melbourne Golf Club and entry to an exclusive spectator function at the Crown Towers on November 18.

Off The Greens

Beyond The Cup, visitors will have a hard time choosing from activities both in and out of the city. To narrow the field, Goway has created a selection of two, three and five-day post-golf touring options. Choose from the iconic rock formations along Victoria’s famed Great Ocean Road or the world’s smallest penguins on parade at Philip Island. Package rates range from $419 to $989, based on twin/double share.

About The Presidents Cup
The Presidents Cup, a team match play competition featuring 24 of the world’s top golfers – 12 from the United States and 12 from around the world, excluding Europe – is held every two years, and since 1996 has alternated between United States and international venues.. The Presidents Cup is a unique golf event in that there is no purse or prize money. Players are not personally paid for their participation, rather each competitor allocates an equal portion of the funds generated to charities of his choice. Since the event’s inception, nearly $22 million has been raised for charities around the world, including a record-tying $4.2 million in 2009.
