Malaysia Weather
The climate of Malaysia is tropical and moderately hot all year. There are two monsoon seasons found in Malaysia the Southwest Monsoon from late May through to September and the Northeast Monsoon from November to March. On the west coast of the peninsula, the rainy season is from September to December while the east coast experiences it from October to February. East Malaysia experiences the rainy season from November to February.
Weather in Malaysia can be divided by region: coastal, lowland and highland regions.
The coastal regions enjoy a sunny climate with temperatures ranging from 23˚C (73˚F) to 32˚C (89.6˚F) with an average rainfall of 10-30cm a month.
The lowland areas experience a similar temperature to the coastal regions but have a more distinctive rainfall pattern as well as high humidity levels.
The highlands are cooler and wetter and offer greater variations in temperature than anywhere else in the country. Humidity levels in the highlands rarely fall below 75%.
