With 7,107 islands, the Philippines team with potential tourist destinations. Across the islands lie pristine white beaches, warm and clear dive sites, scenic seascapes, challenging surf sites, beautiful mountains, magnificent waterfalls, hot and cold springs, and all kinds of natural jewels in a tropical setting. And because it's off the beaten path, the Philippines are a great place to escape the hordes that descend on other parts of Southeast Asia. First and foremost, the Philippines are a place of natural wonders – a string of coral-fringed islands strewn across a vast expanse of the western Pacific.

One of the attractions is that most locals speak excellent English due mainly to the fact that the country was an American colony for a long period. However, there is a mixture of Spanish influences which mingle with the American. Add to this smiling, friendly and welcoming people and this is the essence of all of our Philippines tours.

The capital Manila appears at first to be a busy, noisy city but it does have its attractions. The sweeping seafront promenade of mainly high-rise hotels eventually leads to Old Manila which includes Intramuros, an old walled city and historical landmark. Other attractions are Rizal Park, an oasis for relaxation and Chinatown, one of the largest in the world. Shopping here is excellent and inexpensive.

Beaches are a large part of the reasons to visit the Philippines. Major beach resorts are Boracay, a lively island resort with some of the best beaches anywhere in the world, Palawan, another island with not only excellent beaches but a beautiful National Park and a major centre for Scuba Diving, Cebu, though primarily a city and known as the “Queen of the South” has beautiful white sand beaches located on Mactan Island. Cebu mixes urban attractions with rest and relaxation perfectly.

Something very different is a visit to the Banaue Rice Terraces which are carved into the rocks on hilly mountain slopes and are 2000 years old. The scenery can only be described as breathtaking.
