Your guide will pick you up at your hotel, and based on your hotels location, you will walk immediately to, or take a short walk to one of the most efficient and pristine underground systems in the world, the Santiago Metro.
Travel the underground and visit some of the more picturesque stations such as the City called "University of Chile" where a giant mural of a local artist is exhibited. The metro station of the University of Chile was chosen by a prestigious British newspaper as one of the 7 most beautiful in the world.
When you leave the station, you will find yourself in the middle of the bustling center of Santiago. Passing through the Stock Exchange and the classic streets of downtown Santiago. You will have the opportunity to have coffee in one of the many cafés called "Café con piernas " which means coffee with legs. You will understand the name as it the coffee is poured!
Visit Plaza de Armas to visit the main Cathedral; afterwards walk Puente Street to Mercado Central (local fish Market) to see the varied types of fish and shellfish. After having lunch at a local restaurant, walk across the Mapoc River to visit Vega Central (local food market) to see different fruits and vegetables that Chile offers. After the market visit you will go to the Bellavista district to try out a local drink called "The Terremoto" before returning to your hotel.
