Pantanal Tours
Located primarily in Brazil, the Pantanal UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, one of the world’s largest tropical wetland areas, also expands into parts of Bolivia and Paraguay. Pantanal is twenty times the size of the Florida Everglades and is a sanctuary for wildlife. There are two protected areas located in Pantanal: Pantanal Matogrossense National Park established in September 1981 and SESC Pantanal Private Natural Heritage Reserve established in 1998.
With few people and no towns, most transport in Pantanal is done by boat or small planes. Fishing is a popular attraction and enthusiasts come from around the world to fish the river systems and take part in the annual International Fishing Festival. Boat trips and safaris (on foot and horseback) are some of the best ways to experience the immense wildlife available in Pantanal.
