Cape To Cairo... Your Host
Throughout your Journey of a Lifetime, Goway's on-the-ground representatives will handle all the technical details. To oversee them will be Bev Barton, your host for the journey.
Bev, the daughter of New Zealand missionaries, grew up in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), and has a profound love of all things Africa. She is a genuine globetrotter, having been to more places than most travellers. Bev has been back to Africa many times and in fact was a guest on Goway's inaugural Cape to Cairo adventure in January 2016. Bev can be described as gregarious, personable and a natural leader. She is also a qualified nurse. Click here for more on your Journey of a Lifetime host.
Bev is married to Gary, a flat-mate of Bruce Hodge's when he founded Goway Travel. Gary was instrumental in the early development of the company. The "boys" created a social club in Toronto called the Drifters - and it was at one of their events that Bev met Gary.
When Gary and Bev moved to New Zealand, they built, developed and ultimately sold a very successful Nursing Home and Retirement Village. They have two children - Brett a successful business broker on the sunshine coast of Queensland, Australia - and Veronica who now lives in Toronto and is the Producer of the annual Luminato Festival.
