Best of Both World's Auckland Tour

This morning you will be collected from your hotel for your private tour. Auckland is set on 48 dormant volcanic cones and between two harbours, the sparkling Waitemata and the brooding Manukau. Known as the City of Sails, it is New Zealand’s largest and busiest city. Your Auckland city tour is a journey of discovery designed to explore the history and sights as well as see how Aucklanders live and play. Travel up Queen Street, through Auckland’s central business district, past the Auckland University and through the inner city park, known as the Domain. Visit the fabulous Auckland Museum and the winter gardens. Continue on to the summit of Mt Eden, the city’s most prominent volcanic cone with its 360-degree stunning views of the harbour and the city. Travel through the picturesque suburb of Ponsonby, known for its historic buildings before heading over the Harbour Bridge to Auckland’s North Shore. Stroll on Narrow Neck Beach in historic Devonport. There is time here for a coffee before continuing up to the summit of Mt Victoria with its panoramic views of Auckland City.

Travel back over the Harbour Bridge to Westhaven Marina, one of the largest marinas in the Southern Hemisphere with views of the Harbour Bridge. Depart the city and travel 30 minutes to take an easy bushwalk in the lush Waitakere rainforest at Cascade Kauri Park. This park contains the largest remaining stand of mature kauri trees in the Auckland region. Here in an untouched piece of rainforest stand 1000-year-old kauri trees. This part of the rainforest is particularly rich in birdlife due to a successful project to eradicate pests. Our guides will explain about our native species as you walk amongst New Zealand’s famous kauri trees, giant tree ferns and hear native birds. Continue ton to enjoy lunch at Soljans Winery restaurant (includes a glass of wine). The winery is built with sunshine in mind and serves Mediterranean-style food with a New Zealand twist, showcasing fresh seasonal produce from around the region. Your journey then takes you to Auckland’s wild west coast and one of the few mainland gannet nesting sites in the world situated on the cliff-tops overlooking the Tasman Sea. Here you get a close-up of gannet behaviour without disturbing their environment. The views extend for miles along with the wild, black, iron sand beach of beautiful Muriwai Beach.

Your evening is at leisure.

This morning you will be transferred by private coach to Titirangi Golf Club

Includes: Green Fees for 18 hole & cart

No Caddie Service

Note: The Titirangi Golf Course, like most Alister MacKenzie courses, is designed to be a walking course. This club is a traditional style course and as such don’t have cart paths or the space for them so they only have a limited number of carts approx. 8 in total

Consistently ranked as one of New Zealand’s top courses and Auckland’s number 1. Titirangi is a world-class golf course situated in beautiful bushland setting between the lower slopes of the Waitakere Ranges and the Manukau Harbour. Founded in 1909, it is a private members club but offers limited playing opportunities for New Zealand and overseas visitors. Titirangi is regarded as one of New Zealand’s top courses and is the only one in the country designed by Dr. Alister Mackenzie. Mackenzie’s designs are notable for their sensitivity to the nature of the original site and he is admired for producing holes that offer an ideal balance of risk and reward. After designing Titirangi in 1927, Mackenzie went on to design some of the world’s top courses including Augusta, Cypress Point and Royal Melbourne. 20009 saw the finish of an extensive multi-million dollar upgrade programme, confirming Titirangi’s reputation as the best golf course in Auckland. The par 70 features elevated tees, rolling fairways, challenging bunkers and greens with pronounced undulation. Its par 3’s face the four points of the compass so no matter what the weather condition, you experience a different test on each hole. The course is just over 6025 metres off the championship tees and offers a genuine challenge to golfers of all levels.

At the end of the round re-board the coach for the transfer back to the hotel.

Play a Round of Golf at Cape Kidnappers

This morning you will be transferred by private coach to Cape Kidnappers Golf Club Napier

Includes: Green Fee for 18 hole round & Cart

Note: Also includes Caddie (4 pax per Caddie)

Cape Kidnappers sits above towering cliffs with every hole having a view of the Pacific ocean. Parts of the design incorporate several picturesque fairways along the edge of the cliff tops, with greens
situated where any ball that badly misses will plunge down into the ocean. Completed in 2004, this spectacular New Zealand golf course has been hailed as one of the great modern marvels in golf. Cape Kidnappers golf course is currently ranked the 41st best golf course in the world by Golf Magazine. "The Cape is not true links terrain; instead, the land tilts toward the sea as a series of ridges jutting out toward the edge of the cliffs. Yet, the play is seaside golf at its finest. The surface is firm and fast, and the conditions can be windy, so the player who can control his trajectory will be the master of the course. You'll hit heroic shots over the tops of the tea trees, and play cautiously along the edges of deep ravines. Every hole has a view of the Bay, and at the sixth and fifteenth holes, it's possible to pull your approach off the very end of the earth, though it will take nearly ten seconds of hang time for your ball to reach the ocean, 500 feet below. Enjoy your game, and enjoy the setting. You will never play golf somewhere like this again." Comments from designer Tom Doak.

At the end of the round re-board coach for the transfer back to the hotel.

Aside from being the Nation’s capital, Wellington is an important port and banking centre. Wellingtonians are also avid theatre and concertgoers, and the love of performing arts is prevalent everywhere you go.

New Zealand's capital is a superbly compact city, set dramatically on the shores of a fine, deep harbor enclosed by a natural amphitheater of wooded hills. The second-largest city, Wellington is the political center of New Zealand. Wellington is known as the restaurant capital of New Zealand. Many of its great cafes, funky bars and ethnic-inspired restaurants are within walking distance of each other, and its sidewalks are enlivened by street performers. Look for restaurants and bars in the Courtney Place area, namely Blair and Allen Streets, or try the Queens Wharf. Wellington's nightlife is a tribute to its passion for the arts.
