Cape Town Sightseeing
This morning enjoy a leisurely breakfast at our hotel prior to our afternoon sightseeing tour. This afternoon join us for our Private Half-Day City and Table Mountain Tour.
The indigenous flora of Table Mountain encompasses some 1470 species, including more than 500 species of Erica and 100 species of iris. South Africa’s national flower, the protea, is found in abundance on the slopes. Experience the unforgettable sweeping views of “the fairest cape in the whole circumference of the world”. On a clear day, the spectacular views from the summit (1086 m above sea level) stretch across the mountainous spine of the Cape Peninsula and beyond Table Bay and Robben Island. Thereafter you will visit Cape Town Castle. Completed in 1679, the castle is the oldest European building in Southern Africa. The guided visit to this building offers visitors an overview of the early history of Cape Town. From the Castle, you then travel through the city centre to the South African Museum and Houses of Parliament. We then travel up Signal Hill, from where the entire harbour, city bowl and Sea Point areas are visible (weather permitting). Our guide will explain the role that the hill played in the city’s early history. Continue to the Malay Quarter. The Malay people were first brought to Cape Town as slaves, and today their colourful culture and cuisine are an influential part of city life. We reach Cape Town harbour, one of the busiest in Africa and a key reason for Cape Town’s existence. We continue to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where we are free to enjoy the shops and restaurants, prior to being transferred back to our hotel. B

Look for the Southern Cross in the night sky before we enjoy dinner at a fabulous 'out of town' restaurant, offering seafood and South African specialties. See the city lights by night as we return to our hotel. What a lovely way to cap off our stay in Cape Town. BD
Cape Town - Stellenbosch
This morning after breakfast and checking out of our hotel, we set off to Stellenbosch and a full day Winelands tour en route to our accommodation. This classic tour will take us through spectacular vineyard-covered valleys and along scenic country roads. During the course of the day we visit Franschhoek, a thriving town first settled by the French Huguenots in 1688. We then continue to the town of Stellenbosch - This historic town, founded in 1679, is renowned for the gracious Cape Dutch thatched and gabled buildings and stately oaks, which line the streets. It is considered one of the best-preserved towns from the era of the Dutch East India Company and it is the second oldest town in the country. Oom Samie se Winkel - a Victorian dealer’s store dating from 1904 & the Stellenbosch Village Museum (a complex of historic homes furnished in period style) are both worthwhile stops. The scenery combined with 2 wine tastings, a cellar tour, lunch on a wine farm, and the opportunity to purchase the local wines, makes our tour an ideal introduction to the Cape Winelands Region. BL
