Not All Escorted Tours are Created Equal

There are those who say “anyone can operate an escorted tour.” In some ways, they’re right. Many travel companies do. But Goway has never wanted to be “just like everyone else.” Right from our first escorted experience back in 1983, we’ve strived to stand out, and that attitude still inspires our trips today.

An escorted trip though, should be that little bit special. There’s a reason we don’t just call them ‘tours.’ Our fully escorted trips are HOLIDAYS OF A LIFETIME, a name that is not just an aspiration, but a ‘promise of something special’ to our Globetrotters.

Goway's HOLIDAYS OF A LIFETIME aren’t designed to be cheap. But they are designed to offer top quality experiences and accommodation, meaning excellent value for money. Accommodations vary from well known, high-quality hotels, to some of our favourite local stays, and passengers can be assured of first-class (or better) arrangements each step of the way.

Making all the difference, of course, are our Tour Directors. Personable and experienced, with a passion for our destinations, their job is to take care of the little things. That includes tips, local guides, luggage services, hotel check-in, transfers, and other details, allowing our Globetrotters to relax and simply enjoy their HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME.

These itineraries are also characterised by ‘fun themes’ that vary with each individual trip. Past HOLIDAYS OF A LIFETIME have focused on Animal and Plant Life, Food and Wine, Geography and History, or Lifestyles and Indigenous Culture, without compromising on the essential experiences of each destination. Dining experiences include several meals on each itinerary that we think are particularly memorable and unique to the destination. Not all dining is included however, which allows passengers the flexibility to make new local discoveries, or escape for a romantic dinner away from the group. Of course, their Tour Director is on hand to make recommendations or bookings if required.

But why should couples have all the fun? Singles willing to share a room may book without the single supplement required by many organised tours.

Exclusive Small Groups

Goway's HOLIDAYS OF A LIFETIME groups are kept small, capped at twenty participants for most trips, or thirty on the Waltzing Matilda (since some travellers will be on the New Zealand only, or Australia only portions of the trip). The Cape to Cairo Journey will only accept up to 15 guests. Our ‘fun themes’ usually mean a gathering of like minds and similar interests. As such, they create a sense of camaraderie that’s been the start of many new friendships. The comprehensive nature of the trips also tends to attract curious, adventure-hungry travellers of all ages with stories of their own to share. That’s to say nothing of the new stories they come away with. One couple even got married on their Waltzing Matilda trip!

Participants on our HOLIDAYS OF A LIFETIME come from all over North America, and sometimes beyond. As such, we do not include airfares in the ‘rack rate.’ This allows us to help our Globetrotters save by taking advantage of seat sales, and the latest discounts. The Goway Tour Director will also personally meet each guest upon arrival at the airport.
