QUEENIE HOU

AFRICA & MIDDLE EAST

DESTINATION SPECIALIST

I was born adventurous by nature and in my travels, I always try to incorporate this whenever and wherever possible. Rock climbing, snorkeling, sand boarding, parasailing, zip lining, hot air ballooning, skiing and sky diving are some of the fun activities I have enjoyed thoroughly. Sky diving at 12000 feet set the bar at its highest. No pun intended! Travel is obviously my passion. I once left Canada on twelve hours notice for Botswana. That should speak volumes! I am so happy to have visited the beautiful countries of Botswana and Tanzania. I love planning adventurous, complex and remote itineraries in particular, and I am always up for the challenge so please don't be shy to knock on my door. Aside from travel, tennis is my other passion. For the ones who know me, most of my free time is time spent at the tennis courts. Needless to say, Roger Federer is my role model. Go Roger!

My favourite places

  • Okavango Delta

    Africa & Middle East

The Okavango Delta is produced by seasonal flooding. During Jan and Feb the river drains rainfall from the Angola highlands and flows for 1,200 km. From Mar to Jun the waters begin to spread over the Delta and between Jun to Aug (Botswana’s dry winter months), the Delta swells to three times its regular size.

  • Chobe National Park

    Africa & Middle East

Located in the northwest of Botswana, near the borders of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia is Chobe National Park, the third largest national park in Botswana. Covering approximately 11,700 square kilometres (4,517.39 square miles) of floodplains, swamps and woodland, Chobe was Botswana’s first national park.

  • Ngorongoro

    Africa & Middle East

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Tanzania. To the northwest, it adjoins Serengeti National Park and to the south and west are volcanic highlands that include Ngorongoro Crater. Southern and eastern borders run along the Great Rift Valley.

Did you know?

  • Botswana is undoubtedly number one on the list of Africa's safest countries.
  • If you are travelling with children in most countries, a full unabridged birth certificate is mandatory
  • You can only do a Mokoro (Canoe) safari in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The lush scenery is a visual delight.
  • The Great Migration sees over 1.5 million wildebeest and a host of other antelope travelling cross country.
