My passion for travel, and my subsequent career in the travel industry, began after I graduated from Archaeology at UCLA. I spent the summer after graduation on a dig in the Atacama Desert of Northern Chile, which also happened to be my first time out of the U.S. This experience helped to clarify that my true passion was not for Archaeology, but rather for travel, and I haven't stopped travelling since. I have had incredible game viewing experiences in Kenya's Masai Mara, explored the narrow streets of Zanzibar's Stone Town, come face to face with Great White sharks in Gansbaai, flown in a helicopter over the majestic Victoria Falls, and glided through the life-giving waters of the Okavango Delta in a mokoro. Africa is every bit as magical and amazing as it is made out to be, and is a place that I absolutely believe everyone should travel to at least once, but preferably many times, in their lives.

My favourite places

  • Garden Route, South Africa

    Africa & Middle East

This stretch of coastline in the Western Cape region of South Africa is breathtakingly beautiful and jam packed with natural wonders. From the surfer's paradise of Jeffrey's Bay to the drama of Tsitiskamma National Park and the class of Knysna, there is something for everyone in this unique part of South Africa.

  • Namibia

    Africa & Middle East

Everyone has an image in their minds when they think of Africa and Namibia was mine with its long expanses of stunning desert. The towering sand dunes and eerily-beautiful petrified forest of Sossusvlei are particularly incredible. Namibia is a place that overwhelms you with its beauty and steals your heart.

  • Jordan

    Africa & Middle East

This is one of the most underrated destinations in North Africa. Alongside Petra, It has the towering ruins of Jerash, the intricate mosaic churches of Madaba, and the stark beauty of Wadi Rum. Additionally, Jordan is an extremely safe, stable and welcoming country in an often-difficult region.

Did you know?

  • Hippos are considered to be the most dangerous animals you will encounter on a game drive on African safaris.
  • Gansbaai (a short distance from Cape Town) is home to the world's largest population of Great White sharks.
  • There is much more to Petra than the iconic Treasury Building. It's so big, you can spend several days there.
  • There is a medieval castle in Ethiopia at a place called Gondar, which is known as the "Camelot of Africa."
