BOB BOURDON

AUSTRALIA & SOUTH PACIFIC

DESTINATION SPECIALIST

I started traveling back in the mid-70s, leading Scuba Diving trips to Mexico and the Caribbean, and up and down the west coast from Washington to California. In '85 I changed careers and became a travel agent, working exclusively with an island resort in Fiji as their reservations manager in the US. That led to working with many of the Fiji resorts and resorts in the Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Australia, New Zealand, and many of the smaller Pacific nations. Basically, my favorite place is a small island resort where I can cruise on dry land, with easy access to water and land-based activities, and have the opportunity to interact with fellow guests, enjoy great meals, and have a cocktail or two. It's true. You arrive at one of the amazing resorts as a guest but leave as a friend. You might even start to feel like family.

My favourite places

  • Australia

As big as the US and just as diverse. Dive/snorkel the Great Barrier Reef or visit the Red Center. Explore vibrant cities, tiny hamlets, fantastic islands, or the outback. You'll always find an adventure in Australia.

  • Cook Islands

Being small is a good thing! Rarotonga is only about 26 miles in circumference but has laid-back resorts that make you feel right at home. Excellent snorkeling, hiking, and one of the best cultural experiences found anywhere. And then, there's Aitutaki, only the most beautiful lagoon anywhere!

  • Fiji

My home away from home, where friendships last a lifetime and where you feel the love of Fijian 'family.' Fiji has something for everyone, from rustic accommodations to luxurious resorts, from resort/hotel complexes to private island resorts plus an astounding range of activities on land, on/under the sea, or in the air.
