BRENT MORRIS

ASIA

DESTINATION SPECIALIST

The travel bug hit at age ten when I got to visit the cockpit on a flight to LA and saw what the pilots saw. Since then, I have visited over 40 countries and worked in the travel industry for 25 years. I get a thrill every time I step onto a plane. The longer the flight the better (I'm a sucker for punishment, apparently). Getting out of my comfort zone and exploring new places is my thing, along with getting a new stamp on my passport.

My favourite places

  • Thailand

Thailand is my home away from home. From its people to the food, everything about the country is amazing. Whether it's exploring the various beaches on Koh Samui or sailing up the Mekong River on a longtail boat, there's so much to see and do in this incredible country.

  • Peru

If I had to pick one travel experience as my favourite of all time it would be, without question, hiking the Inca Trail. This was the most challenging thing I have ever done but watching the sun break through the clouds as we arrived at Machu Picchu was worth every blister (cue angels singing).

Did you know?

  • It’s disrespectful to show the soles of your feet in much of Asia, as they're the lowest and dirtiest part of the body.
  • Inca Trail Porters will carry up to 25kg of luggage and equipment and run up/down stairs at high altitudes.
  • Thailand was actually known as Siam until 1939 (and again from 1945 to 1949)
