My introduction to travel was in 1995, working at Resort Condominiums International in Cape Town. On my first familarisation trip, I was sent to Disneyland and on a cruise in the Bahamas. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I remember skipping down the passageway after hearing where I was off to. My second trip was to Mauritius. I soon tired of working in South Africa, and took off on a gap year to England to find my roots. One year turned to 19 years later, where I find myself now working at Goway. During the 19 years of my own travel, I worked in London for several of those years where I was with Thomas Cook in Hammersmith, American Express in Victoria, and then onto what is now BCD Travel in Marble Arch. These were among my most exciting travel days, as my clients were movie stars and musicians. I then took a break between 2006 and 2010, doing a dog training course and working in that field for 4 years (I even had my own puppy training company in Wimbledon, London)! 2010 brought us to Canada. My first job in Canada was working at an online gambling company, until it was closed down due to some FBI investigations. This lead me back to working in the travel industry and particularly for Goway Travel. I have now been with the Goway family for nearly seven years. Best part? I sell Africa and am in touch with my South African roots daily.

My favourite places

  • Cook Islands

    Australia & South Pacific

Pacific Ocean! Say no more! Blue lagoons, white sandy beaches, friendly people, great food and the most memorable for me? Getting married on the beach at Sea Change in a coconut heart shape. We then spent our honeymoon on the magical island of Aitutaki.

  • Kenya, East Africa

    Africa & Middle East

Magical, with warm and welcoming people. Most memorable part of my trip to Kenya was getting to feed a Rothschild Giraffe by hand, chatting to the Chimps at Sweetwaters Lodge and feeding a Blind Rhino at the Ol Pejeeta Conservancy. An absolute must is to fly around Kenya if you can afford it. Some of the best airport lounges are trees under the African Sun surrounded by wild animals.

  • Turkey

    UK Europe

Had the best Hamman Turkish Bath in Istanbul. Love the city as it is so walkable. Extremely historical with the Topkapi Palace circa 1460. On my bucket list still to do is a Gulet holiday along the Turkish coast.
