Hong Kong offers a subtropical climate with four seasons. Winter, from mid-December to February is considered cool by local standards with temperatures ranging from 15˚C (59˚F) to 20˚C (68˚F). The northeast winter monsoons bring cold fronts and the temperature can drop. Spring is from March to May and is quite humid with increased rainfall. Summer, from June to August is hot and humid and rainfall can be unpredictable. Thunderstorms or brief showers are common, so too are hot temperatures exceeding 30˚C (86˚F). Autumn is from September to mid-December and is the most pleasant time to visit. While temperatures are still high, 20-27˚C (68-80.6˚F), humidity and rainfall is lower.
