Best Time to visit Nepal

With views of the mountains being a big attraction, in this case, the best time to visit Nepal is when the visibility is at its best. This is between late September and late November. At this time, the weather is clear and dry and neither too hot nor cold. The monsoon, which lasts from June until mid-September, washes away any pollution and dust making the mountains very visible. The fall is also a good time to go trekking.

During the monsoon period, clouds can obscure the mountains and the rain can be a deterrent. The second best time to visit Nepal is between February and April when the weather is warm and everything is starting to bloom. This is probably the best time to view wildlife in Chitwan National Park.

In December and January, although visibility is good, it is cold in Kathmandu. However, it never snows here.

Two major festivals, Dasain (a dazzling and colourful Hindu festival that lasts 15 days) and Tihar (the Hindu festival of lights which lasts 5 days), take place in the fall.
