Taiwan Weather
The climate in Taiwan is classified as subtropical which means that summers are hot and humid while winters in the south can be damp but are relatively pleasant, and in the north, it can get chilly. The annual average temperature in the south is 24˚C (75˚F) and is 22˚C (72˚F) in the north.
Summer runs from June to August in Taiwan and temperatures can reach up to 35˚C (95˚F). June to October can experience typhoons which are characterized by thunderstorms and can cause flooding in low-lying areas. Autumn is from September to November and the average temperature is around 20˚C (68˚F). It does not get too hot and the temperature does not vary much between night and day. Winter is from December to February and these months tend to be the driest. Coldest temperatures average about 15˚C (59˚F) in the north and around 19˚C (66˚F) in the south. Spring is from March to May and is quite similar to the weather experienced in the autumn, however, rain during this time can be unpredictable as this is the rainy season in Taiwan.
