Social Conventions

Family life and the Catholic Church both play very important roles in the lives of Croatians and as such, they should be respected. When greeting people, shaking hands is the most common form of introduction.

 

Language

Croatian is the official language of the country, however, Serbian, Slovenian, Hungarian and Italian are also spoken to some degree.

 

Religion

Roman Catholicism is the largest religion in Croatia accounting for nearly 88% of the population. Other religions represented in the country include Eastern Orthodox Serbians, Protestants, Jews and Muslims.
