Best Time to Visit Hungary
The ideal time for Hungary tours is the spring from March to May and from September to November when the weather is mild and the tourist sites less crowded. Temperatures at any time are moderate. The hottest and wettest period is actually the summer months of June, July and August although the evenings stay light which is a good reason to consider the summer.
There are many outdoor evening performances to enjoy with live music under the stars at venues such as City Park and Margaret Island. Budapest can be humid at this time. Elsewhere the climate is agreeable. The winter between December and February can be chilly.
In February, there are a number of craft markets and food festivals taking place. Although it can be cloudy and cold some days offer brilliant winter sunshine. In April, there is the Cherry Blossom Festival and the Japanese Garden on Margaret Island is in full bloom. The fall is the start of the new seasons of opera, ballet and theatre.
