Best Time to Visit Montenegro

The best time to visit is between April and September. Montenegro’s climate has two distinct patterns. The coast has typical Mediterranean weather, with very warm summers and mild winters. The interior is different as it is on higher ground and has a sub-alpine climate with warm summers and very cold winters with occasionally heavy rainfall and much snow.

The months of July and August are extremely busy and the beaches can be crowded. It is also when prices are at their highest. This does not apply to the interior when the weather is perfect for hiking etc.

For swimming, the water doesn’t really warm up until May and stays warm until October.
