Social Conventions
Family life and the Catholic Church both play very important roles in the lives of Montenegrins and as such, they should be respected. When greeting people, shaking hands is the most common form of introduction.
Language
Montenegrin is the official language of the country. However, Serbian, Slovenian, Hungarian and Italian are also spoken to some degree.
Religion
While Orthodox Christianity is the dominant form of religion in Montenegro, there are also sizable numbers of adherents of both Islam and Catholic Christianity. The dominant Church is the Serbian Orthodox Church although traces of a forming Montenegrin Orthodox Church are present.
