Northern Ireland: Culture

  • Irish tradition

Shaking hands is the most common form of greeting, with a kiss on the cheek once parties know each other better.  While casual dress is fine in everyday life, some clubs and restaurants do not allow jeans or running shoes, so it is best to check before visiting.

Language

English is the official language of Northern Ireland.

Religion

Christian denominations (Church of England, Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, Presbyterian etc) have the largest followings in Northern Ireland.
