Slovakia: Weather


Slovakia experiences a moderate climate with four distinct seasons.  Spring is from March to June and frequent changes in weather are common at this time of year.  There can also be a lot of rain during the spring months.  Summer months in Slovakia are June to September.  Temperatures during these months can get quite high with July typically being the hottest month.  It can reach between 30-35˚C (86-95˚F) in the lowlands, while the mountains are a bit cooler.  Autumn is from September to December and can be similar to summer days early in the season.  Later in autumn, days are characterized by rain and foggy days.  Finally, winter is from December to March and can be quite cold.  The mountains can be very cold, while the lowlands typically experience temperatures between -5 and -10˚C.  Both snow and rain are common during the winter months.
