What currency is used in Sweden?

Swedish Krona is the official currency of Sweden, Euros are usually accepted in the restaurants or shops around the tourists’ attractions, but it is always recommended to carry some cash, major cards are widely accepted too.

Do I need a visa to travel to Sweden?

Sweden is a Schengen area country. This means that Canadian & U.S. citizens may enter Finland for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. 

When is the best time to travel to Sweden?

Late spring and summer is the best time to visit Stockholm. Sunny, breezy spring, fewer crowds and lower rates. June through September are the busiest months of the year and the highest rates too but are also full of popular events and festivals. During the shoulder seasons (spring and fall) the weather is amazing and there aren’t that many tourists.

How is the transportation within Sweden?

Sweden has a great transportation network. Travellers can use the train (which has links with countries sharing borders with Sweden) or the bus network between cities, which are very reliable and fairly cheap. In Stockholm people often use the subway, the ferries or the public bus.
