MODERATE | TAILOR-MADE: A true wildlife experience in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve combining walking and vehicle safaris through Big Five territory in one of the largest privately owned game reserves in South Africa.
From Johannesburg airport, you will take the shuttle bus service to the Klaserie Private Nature situated on the western border of the Kruger National Park. It is one of the largest privately owned nature reserves in South Africa and forms part of the greater Kruger National Park which means that wildlife can roam freely between here, Kruger National Park and the Timbavati Game Reserve allowing for excellent game viewing. This is a superb spot for Big 5 viewing, with a large concentration of wildlife available.
During your 3 or 4 night stay here, a typical day would be a 2/3 hour walking safari commencing in the early morning followed by a hearty breakfast and a chance to relax or perhaps swim in the pool. In the late afternoon, head out on a vehicle safari followed by a Sundowner in the open air bush. After dinner, enjoy a night drive which is an excellent time to possibly see carnivores hunting their prey.
You will be returned to Johannesburg airport after a true wildlife experience.

Africa On Foot
In order to offer the best game viewing opportunities possible, both walking safaris and 4x4 safaris are a part of every day. Each morning at sunrise, guests will embark on a 2-3 hour-long walk through the Big 5 territory, and every afternoon brings a game drive in an open-top Land Rover.
During summer, an early wake-up at 5.00am starts the day (while winter is later at 5.45am). It gets very hot and guides like to bring guests back to camp before 9am while it is still cool. Walks take between 2 and 3 hours and are followed by a hearty breakfast at the dining table. Between 11.00am and 2.30pm guests have time to themselves. Relax with a book, take a nap with the sounds of the local birdlife, have a dip in the pool and catch a tan in the sun. At 2.30pm lunch is served, consisting of salads, cheese, cold meat and a light quiche or pie. Game drive begins at 3.30pm and traverses this exceptional area of the Klaserie. At the time the sun sets, guides take their guests to a spot where they can snack on biltong, nuts and chips, while sipping on something cold. Return to the lodge by 7.30pm and freshen up before dinner at about 8.30pm.
Africa on Foot is a unique camp in the Kruger that offers professional guided walking safaris with qualified trail guides. Each Walking Safari lasts about from 2-3 hours and begins with a comprehensive demonstration on how to behave when encountering animals. All Walking Safaris are led by qualified rangers who have had intensive specialized training in approaching dangerous game.
In the evenings, guests are taken on game drive, which brings you a lot closer to big game. The animals are habituated to the vehicle, which means that they are used to the vehicle approaching them and know that it never causes them harm. This enables to you to get within five to 10 metres of the larger predators; even while they're feasting on a recent kill. The night drives allow guests the opportunity to see the nocturnal animals not encountered during the day. Your chances of seeing leopard in particular are a lot higher at night and with a bit of luck you might even encounter the predators such as lion and leopard hunting. During the night drives, your tracker uses a powerful spotlight to search for nocturnal animals.
