This 8-day trip through South Africa takes you to see the big game of the northwest regions, before spending a few days on the Cape.
Located on the border with Botswana, Madikwe Game Reserve is a sanctuary for a wide variety of native species. A game drive here will often take you to see elephants, buffaloes, black and white rhinos, and many of the big cats including lions and cheetahs. Over sixty different mammal species call the park home, for a total population over 10,000. Your three days here are entirely at leisure, so enjoy as many or as few game viewing activities as you’d like. Your accommodation overlooks an active water hole, so you may not have to go far at all to enjoy your first sightings.
Fly to Cape Town and enjoy a full day tour of the peninsula. You’ll see some of South Africa’s most palatial homes, and follow the Cliffside drive overlooking the ocean. Explore the Cape of Good Hope and Table Mountain National Park, part of the Cape Floral Kingdom. You’ll visit the penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach, before ending the day at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
The following day, see a different side of the cape with a visit to the Hout Bay World of Birds, home to over 400 different species of birds, reptiles, mammals, and a walk-through monkey jungle. Then visit the Two Oceans Aquarium, which showcases all that’s wondrous about the unique waters of the Cape, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans (with their distinctly different climates) meet.

This morning you will be collected from your hotel. You drive along the exquisite stretch of coastline known as Millionaire's Paradise - from Clifton to Camps Bay, to the exclusive beach hamlet of Llandudno - towards the charming working harbour of Hout Bay. Wind along the legendary Chapman's Peak Drive, hugging the cliffs and relishing the breath-taking ocean views, before visiting the wild and beautiful Cape of Good Hope Section of the Table Mountain National Park, an integral part of the world-renowned Cape Floral Kingdom.
