East Africa Explorer

Duration
13 Days
Prices From:
US$ 5,068

Experience the many highlights of East Africa with this family friendly safari. Visit some of Africa’s most famous national parks, uncovering unique wildlife and cultural opportunities.

This 12 day adventure combines the best of Kenya and Tanzania to create the ultimate family safari.

Depart Nairobi for Masai Mara, the Kenyan portion of the vast Serengeti, where life for both humans and animals has changed little in over a century. Morning and afternoon game drives will let you see a wide variety of animals, but this game reserve is particularly famous for its large population of big cats and the colourful culture of the Masai people.

Kigio Wildlife Conservancy is a diverse habitat protecting over 3,500 large mammals including buffalo, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle. Go on to Amboseli, famed as Africa’s best location to get close to free-ranging elephants, as well as zebra, giraffes, cheetahs, lions and many more. Masai culture is also alive and well here, offering you a fascinating and authentic east African experience beneath the awe inspiring peaks of Mt Kilimanjaro.

The world’s largest open, inactive volcanic crater, Ngorongoro is one of Africa’s finest wildlife conservation areas and home to over 25,000 large animals including lions, zebra wildebeest and gazelles. There’s even a good chance you might see a black rhino, the rarest of the Big 5.

Serengeti National Park is the world’s most famous wildlife sanctuary and with good reason. Known for its annual migration of wildebeest and zebra, the park boasts many other animals including the Big 5 (more than 3,000 lions and 1,000 leopards call the Serengeti home), cheetahs, hyenas, baboon, African wild dogs and giraffes. Bird watchers should also keep their eyes peeled for over 500 species that inhabit the plains.
