Experience the majesty of the African savannah on this Kenya safari. Passing from Nairobi to several game reserves throughout the country such as the Masai Mara, you’ll stay in boutique accommodations that transport you to the Golden Age of Travel and head on safari drives to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and all the animals of the East African wild.
This 8-day Kenya safari takes you to incredible game reserves and boutique accommodations across Kenya.
Your Kenya vacation begins in Nairobi, the energetic capital city. Nairobi might not be world-famous for its architecture—the prevalence of concrete high-rises explains why it’s called a concrete jungle—but if you look past first impressions, you’ll find a city with an incredible food scene and a hopping nightlife. You’ll be pampered during your time in the city with a stay at Hemingway’s Hotel, one of the definitive luxury hotels in the country. At Hemingway’s, you’ll stay in massive rooms with walk-in dressing rooms and spacious terraces. Enjoy full butler service and experience the luxury of the hotel situated on a picturesque farm between Nairobi National Park and Ngong Hills.
Continue along to Meru National Park, one of the most underrated parks in the entire country. Visitor numbers to Meru declined significantly in the 1980s due to poaching, but the park has made a comeback and reasserted itself as one of the best safari spots in East Africa. Staying at Elsa’s Kopje, you’ll enjoy boutique accommodations that seamlessly blend into a rocky outcrop on Mughwango Hill. Stay in one of the six cottages and head on game drives throughout the park to see lions, elephants, and rhinos, as well as over 400 species of birds. Best of all, you’ll essentially have the park to yourself, making sure that no one gets in the way of you and incredible wildlife experiences.
From Meru National Park, head to Loisaba Conservancy, a 56,000-acred wildlife conservancy in northern Kenya. Loisaba is known for its wildlife and abundant animal species, including 800 elephants who roam the savannah. Staying at Loisaba Tented Camp, you’ll enjoy traditional accommodations with incredible views of the surrounding landscape. Head on safari drives to see the roaming elephants as well as the giraffes, kudu, lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs that inhabit the area.
Close out your Kenya safari with a visit to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. At Sand River Masai Mara, you’ll stay in one of 16 luxury tents that recreate the golden age of glamour and enjoy incredible views along the banks of the river. On your game drives throughout the famous reserve, you’ll spot the Big Five as well as plenty of hippos and cheetahs. If you happen to visit during the Great Migration, you’ll be lucky enough to witness millions of wildebeest and antelope crossing over the border from the Serengeti. You’ll then return to Nairobi for your flight home.

Located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, Sand River Masai Mara is located within the Masai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border. Situated on a secluded and picturesque site, Sand River Masai Mara replicates the heyday of exclusive permanent tented camps of the late 1920's. The interior fixtures and furnishings mirror this period perfectly, reminding all who visit of those countless Hollywood movies that have paid homage to a classic era of African adventure.
Sand River Masai Mara comprises of 16-tented accommodations - including 1 family tent - each divided into two separate but adjoining campsites, with each area possessing its own designated dining and public areas, thereby creating an increased sense of exclusivity and privacy.Photo gallery
